Problems with my '95 Z26

All of a sudden, when I am driving down the road and I press the gas slightly to accel, the car stumbles. It doesn't seem to down shift until I take my foot off the gas and really floor it. It takes a few seconds, but then it starts to go, but not all that well as it did before this problem. The engine idles fine, the engine revs fine but when I am in gear and try to go it doesn't go anywhere.

It is a '95 Z26 with the 3100 and the 4T60E tranny. The car has 129,000 miles on it. After I bought the car a few months ago, I changed the IAC, O2 sensor, and TPS sensor. The tranny fluid is full and red like it is supposed to be. Today, Chad (lmnjlo) stopped by and we replaced the spark plugs and wires. We also changed the fuel filter. When the key is in the on position, you can hear the fuel pump prime so I don't think it is that. We disconected the TCC, that didn't do anything. We don't have any way to test the fuel pressure or any ohms on the coil packs. We checked all the vac lines and they seem to be good...there is a strong vacuum. One of the hoses off of the tranny for the vac does seem to be old and has a few cracks in it near where it connects to the tranny, but it is not leaking at this time.

Maybe fuel injectors? Could it be the Crank Position Sensor? Also when we floor the car, it sounds a little clanky. Could just be my ears acting up.

Any thoughts?

Also there is not a SES light. I checked the tranny fluid while it was warm and added a little more fluid as it was low. We drove the car and the same problems exist....though not as bad. When we floor it down the highway, when it actually does increase in speed, it is not as fast as it was last week. Also, at 70 mph, when I press the gas pedal, it shakes violently. Thinking we will clean the EGR tomorrow along with changing the injectors to Chad's (lmnjlo) spare 3400 injectors from a '99 Grand AM GT. (They worked in his 2.8 before he did the 3400 swap in his car). I will also check the coil packs with an OHM meter I got. What are the OHMs suppose to be again? Though, I would think that if it was a coil pack, wouldn't it give me an SES as it would show up as a misfire? Any other thoughts?

Have your ICM tested first.

It was a bad coil pack. After I got a hold of my ohm tester. All fixed.....good to go.

Cool man. Hey if you lose another coil don't freak out, it's just a bad ICM.
