Are there any new Window seals, i need them for new Paintjob

Post by michi »

My car is going to get a new paintjob in a few weeks, so we will take out the windshield, rear and quarter glasses and now i am wondering if there are any new seals for? I need new ones cause the preowner painted over some spots (rear window seal) and it looks ugly.
The windshield wouldnt be such a problem but the seal for the rear window is very important for me.

What do you guys suggest?

The side seals of the windshield are solid trim instead of rubber, they dont need to be changed.

The upper windshield rubber and the upper + side back window rubber have the same profile. The good thing is, any car glass shop should have that type per meter from the roll!
The bad thing is, you have to take care about the corners at the back window. From factory this is one piece (not available anymore). I made mine consisting of 3 pieces, glued together with a special glue. Its difficult to make it look pretty and get the correct angle though......

When i had the windshield replaced, they were able to re-use the old top seal without issues, tho it wasn't the original one i think.
