Try the TPS too. I had idle problems that ended up being that.

ok if im not mistaken the iac goes on the throttle body, and is a 4 wire. the sensor im missing is the one that goes on the air filter housing itself. is that a one wire? also what is its actual name... im guessin its something like air intake sensor.
thanks for you help

Hi Guys, New to the board but I thought this would be the best place to look, a few days ago I noticed a little problem with my Idle, I have a 1988 GT with a 2.8l, when I am at idle for a wile I notice my tech (I have a digi dash) slowlly drop under 700 then it shuts off. Then it wont start again untill the car cools down or I give it a little gas to keep the RPM's above 800, Now the car drives fine at this point but if I let off the gas at say a light it shuts off and I have to repeat the process, looking under the hood I found a sensor not connected hanging off the rear exaust maniford, the wire to the sencor is purple. I can't for he life of me find where it connects to but I feel these two are related, Searched mt haynes manual but its usless. Thanks again for your imput
