Hydrogen Generator

Has anyone made a hydrogen generator yet and tested it ? i made one last year, and it worked but got hot pretty quick and i havent done anything with it since. i only had mirrored stainless sheeting so i think i need to use just normal stainless.. I have some now im thinking about re working the generator and trying it out on the beretta.

I dont know how good this is for an engine, alot of people are using them these days and there is a ton of info on the net about them and you can buy pre made kits.

What do you all think about the whole running hydrogen in our engines ? is it safe ? will it harm the engine ?

The one i made was producing pretty quick, i could fill a 2 Liter pop bottle pretty fast. i had it all rigged up on a chevy carb truck and run it for half hour but it got hot and was boiling the water out of it, so i need to re work it and use different stainless, maybe smaller plates and less of them, i had 5 plates i think to start. 2 power and 3 negative i think..

i did test it by lighting the pop bottle and its defiantly flammable lol, i was shooting the pop bottle across my entire yard with hydrogen. long as its not harmfull to the engine to run it, and its only a little bit, it should help a little with fuel millage, and long as you have a flash back and bubbler on it then it should be safe to use.

Now that warmer weather is here im going to experiment with it and see what happens.

There was a story about this on the news the other day. And every company I looked up including the one that was featured on the story had websites that did not function, lol. That was kinda weird.

Supposedly by doing this you increase your fuel economy by 5-30% or whatever. The system that was advertised on the news story really didn't pay for itself after looking into what they wanted for it and the supposed gains.

The sites didn't function cause they were taken down. Gas companies don't like competition, remember? :P

I can see the viable use of this, but the practicality of it is not easy to apply. Cost? Well, if it turns out to be a decent solution and you really can save with it over time, that may not matter as much, but it would be nice to keep it affordable.

A few of things have to be considered if someone wants to use this technology:

1) Ease of installation

2) Cost

3) Real benefits

i Made my own hydrogen generator from some PVC pluming pipe, nylon screws and washers to hold the plates together and some scrap stainless steel sheeting i had laying around. so cost is under $50.00 to make one of these, i played around with it last night first time since last fall before winter. and running on my batter charger its pulling over 10 amps and kicks it off, i need to experiment with the plates and get it to draw less amperage but still produce enough hydrogen to make a difference, it all depends on the solution as well. I just used tap water and backing soda it only takes half a spoon full of backing soda if you use too much it draws more amps.

Couple things i need to make or buy is a flash back system in case of backfire, i have a bubbler thats separate from the main device in case of back fire but theres still a small amount of hydrogen in there as well.

I made it after seeing them online and thought no way this can work so i had to make one to test it myself, and yes it works and its highly flammable. With some tweaking of the plates to draw less amps and produce more gas then i will test this on the beretta :)

Just wondering if anyone on here has tested this yet and what your thoughts were on running this through our engines, they claim it runs cleaner but obviously will run hotter as well. just not sure how safe it is.

No one has tested something like this cause its not feasible, pain in the ass to work with, not worth the time and effort and frankly, a very bad idea. Our cars were not meant to run on this stuff, its not exactly stable enough to do any good.

Absolutly, anything to save some cash. LOL. It'd be nice to see something like this work, and work safely and properly. In my opinion, this is a Great topic, given' the situation we are all facing right now.

I have herd of many people using this type of system. as long as you have all the safety things added in, like 1 way valves ect. if it does backfire only whatever is in the line would ignite, Long as the main canister didnt blow up i think it would be fine.

My current test and playing around setup has 4 small plates in it, but it seems to draw alot of amps, but does produce a fair amount of hydrogen. Ill take some pics of it when i get a chance and post them. I am going to continue to mess around with it and see what comes of it.

If it can even add 5 mpg i would be happy, considering the price of gas is so dam high right now. 1.32/liter here today. and i bet before the end of summer it hits 1.50 Minimum. Last fall it was .95 cents/liter.

Might have to buy myself a motorcycle and run it strictly off hydrogen ...... i wonder how safe that would be haha.
