HELP!!! My on-going problems

Ok guys i'm back with another problem with another one of my Beretta's...This has been on-going for the past 5 months (not with the same car)...it's getting tiresome, and i'm at my witts end with these damn cars...I never thought i'd give up on a Beretta, but i'm telling you if you all knew what i've been dealing with...maybe you'd understand....anyway............This is what's going on now with my 88 GT 2.8.
Last Thursday,I was out and about took my son to the DR. etc... car did fine no problems at all. I met my husband at a restaurant for dinner. When I left after eating and what not,I pulled out of the parking lot, gave it gas to go and it completely "bogged" out,and like died right in the middle of the road...I had just enough momentum to coast off to the side of the road. It would start back up at first but run like crap, the whole car shaking, and just sounded rough, but when I'd hit the gas,it would die right out....finally had to tow it home. I assumed it was the fuel pump had just went out,as my dad listened while I turned the key "on" and couldn't hear it....SO....I had the fuel filter and pump replaced...went to bring it home today, and it's still doing the same thing, running like crap, rough idle, and when you give it gas it dies out.....I'm at my witts end and not sure what happened or what it could be...any suggestions?????

I dont know anything about the V6's but a friend of mine had a similar problems with his Quad4 and it was fuel related. Since you have already changed the fuel pump, you might want to check the injectors.
Good luck!

when you got the new car, did you do standard maintenance on it? plugs, wires, oil, etc?

yes Plugs wires, oil change, transmission flush, new o-rings in the injectors, serpentine belt, and all new Vaccume lines....it starts fine, then just shuts off (dies out)....some have told me a few things such as ICM,ECM,coils and speed sensor?????...I don't knowwhat to do...it's both cars now that i'm having troube with and the weird thing is they are having the same symptoms....which is crazy. I know though even tho they are expierencing the same problems,it may be 2 totally different things, but I DON'T KNOW WTF is going on and what are the odds of BOTH cars now taking a crap on me?!?!....

Just because your fuel pump is new doesn't mean it's good. I've had them crap out in a day. Do a fuel pressure test. Get the ICM and coils tested for FREE at Autozone or the like. Test, test, test.
Definitely sounds fuel related to me.

i agree. Fuel Pressure Regulator perhaps?

Make sure all of your vacuum connections are still connected...when i started mine after messing with the TB i forgot to plug in the vacuum manifold at the top of the TB...it would idle, albeit rough, and as soon as the gas was touched, it would die. Plugged in the vacuum manifold and problem solved. Make sure that didn't come un-done somehow.
Do you get a CEL when it restarts???

The CEL only comes on just as it dies out.....FPR was also done in this car.....I'm actually getting ready to take (TOW) one of them in to the shop...soooo when he finds out something,i'll let ya's know.......But I am still having almost the same prob with my other car....it starts and idles ROUGH as HELL,then just dies out?!?! I guess i'll try to get one fixed then worry about the other

I thought you replaced the ECM on the other car and that fixed your CEL.
Also the CEL coming on after it stalls is normal, just like when you put the key on and don't start it the CEL will stay lit.
What has been replaced on this car? Just whats on the list above? Because once again you have all the possibilities of a bad ICM, bad Coil Pack, or a bad crank position sensor. I would lean more toward the ICM though being the old 2.8 and where they put them. Definately worth having that tested with the coils, you've already eliminated the wires and plugs.

here's a bit of an update.....The guy that I bought the car from put in a new regulator but no new O-ring,also the mechanic I recently had put new o-rings in the injectors,f'ed up and punched holes in the rail...so I got a new one and O-ring on the regulator.....(no more gas smell)...I have good fuel pressure, coils are good, vac lines are good,ECM is good..... but after all these test and what not,the car is still doing the same thing, fires right up runs fine for about 30 seconds then dies (as if someone just turned the key off)........so he (the mechanic) is also considering ICM...I bought a NEW one today (not used) for $85....and will be put in within the next day or 2..we'll see if that fixes this car (fingers crossed)...However I am still encountering a problem with my other 88 2.8.....Pretty much the same symptoms...I was driving it the other day and it just completely "bogged" out and wouldn't start back up right away....when it did it ran like S* and rough before completely dieing out and having to be towed home. I had the fuel filter, pump, and sending unit all replaced, along with temp sensor, and a vac line that was found to be "dry rotted"....when I went to start it up today hoping all issues were fixed,it started up fine ran smooth...(I thought ALRIGHT!!!) I test drove it did great,I had to stop for gas and when i shut the car off to pump my gas, went into pay,and came back out to leave,,,I started the car up...BAM same thing, rough idle, ran like S* and died out...wouldn't stay running at all...I had to have my dad tow me home...I thought it was good.....now I don't know what it could be with this one??? ICM too???

Just throwing this out there, but I'm starting to wonder with TWO vehicles doing it.... Do you gas up all your cars at the same place?

Got me thinking the same thing. Sounds awful damn weird that two would be doing it..... And since its acting like a fuel issue.... Hmmmmm

First car, with 30 sec run issue sounds like the safety switch to engage the pump after priming is not working so the fuel pump never kicks on after the car is started, it only primes the system and then shuts off. IIRC thats built into the oil pressure sending unit wiring.
The second 88, Hot start worse symptoms definately points to ICM or crank sensor... I would give those two a shot if you havent already... Crank sensor is probably the cheaper of the two if that hasn't been done.
Once again two different cars, I'm not positive on what you've replaced on both of them.
I have some ICM's if you want me to ship you a few to try out... I may have a crank sensor or two as well.
Let me know.

How much for the ICM??? I bought a NEW one for the "first 88" at $85...I called the JY and they can get me one for $30.....Crank sensor...I can get that cheap from my local parts store(I already bought one before for my previous 95)....Let me know.
As for what has been done to my cars: The first 88..(I have only had it about 2 weeks): ECM,new o-rings on the injectors, new rail, new fuel filter,regulator...plugs/wires were checked and look fairly newer...no fouled plugs..serp belt is new, coolant temp sensor is new,all new vac lines (there are no leaks),stub shaft o-ring new,....
THE SECOND 88: New IAC,gas lines, brake lines, fuel pump, filter, and sending unit, new temp sensor,plugs/wires,some of the vac lines replaced that were dry rotted,....WILL BE TRYING A DIFFERENT ECM TODAY (5/5/11)
