THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE
Removal & Installation

Disconnect negative battery cable. Deactivate air bag. See the AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Discharge A/C system using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. Remove right insulator panel. Remove electrical junction box at heater core cover. Remove left insulator panel. Remove steering column filler. Loosen center console (if equipped) to access floor duct and heater core cover. Remove floor duct. Remove heater core cover, shroud and straps. Heater core is now supported by heater core pipes. DO NOT apply downward pressure on core. Pressure may damage heater core. Remove insulation tape from valve fittings. Remove thermal expansion valve from evaporator. To install, reverse removal procedure. Evacuate, recharge and leak test system.

25 is the cover I pictured on the other page... and pretty much right where the number is pointing I think is the location of the expansion valve. But don't quote me on that.

Hello,

I have a 88 GT and I am working on my AC system. Got everything done, but where is the orifice tube located?
From the manual it looks like it is on the engine side of the passenger footwell, but the two AC tubes are empty.

Any hints?

Thank you

Found it, right tube wrong end.
It is right next to the coolant container.
My garage is filled with embarassment.
