where is the A/C Expansion Valve in my 95 3.1 i am going to be changing out the Compressor, Receiver Drier, and the A/C Expansion Valve but have no idea were it is at on my car

We don't have AC expansion valves... We have Orfice tubes....

Google how GM did its AC systems and it should help you out.

Someone else needs to chime in here, I don't ever remember seeing one of those down in the cooling system, but they definately list it for my car too... that's odd.

It's up under the dash next to the evaporator and heater core.

is it easy to get 2 ?

Depends on if you have everything out (heater core, under dash plastic, dash lol...).

IIRC, it's attached to the evaporator core... if it's the same part I'm talking about.

That's an awkward place to work on stuff regardless.

So we have an expansion valve, or we have an orifice tube? I thought we didn't have the expansion stuff due to how GM did its AC systems, or is that just on the trucks?

Well you need to at least take all the plastic out from under there to gain access to the heater core... After that yeah IIRC there is one more plastic separator that the core attaches too that hides the condenser, so if its near that then you probably need the core removed to get that part out to see it.

This is core removed, I'm guessing its hiding behind this plastic cover just like the condenser core is. When I did my heater core, this part was actually NEVER screwed in from GM... the bolt holes didn't even have threads so getting the main cover out was a PITA because this kept dropping down in the way with the core attached to it. I actually had this all out and the Condenser core exposed and I still don't remember seeing that damn valve... Man I totally blanked on that one.

Disable the SIR system, refer to Disabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming\Service and Repair
Recover refrigerant.
Negative battery cable.
Right side under dash insulator panel.
Electrical junction box at heater core cover.
Left side insulator panel.
Steering column filler.
Partially remove shift console, if equipped, to gain access to floor duct and heater core cover.
Floor duct.
Heater core cover.
Heater core shroud and straps. CAUTION: The heater core will be suspended by the heater core pipes at this point. Do not apply any downward pressure on the core, otherwise damage may occur to the heater core pipes.
Insulation tape from valve fittings.
Thermal expansion valve. NOTE: Clean all insulation tape from evaporator fittings to insure correct seating/torque of O-rings.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
TXV






Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) and new insulation wrap.
Heater core shroud and straps.
Heater core cover. NOTICE: The fittings on the TXV should be leak checked before finishing re-assembly. This can be done without running vehicle.
Evacuate and partially recharge A/C system with 0.48 kg (1 lb) R-134a.
Leak test.
Floor duct.
Steering column filler.
Left side insulation panel.
Electrical junction box to heater core cover.
Right side insulation panel.
Console.
Enable the SIR system, refer to Enabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming\Service and Repair
Complete charging the system with R-134a.
Performance check system.

My 89 has an oriffice tube and its inline

can i take the heater core out with out losing antifreeze

if you are a ninja, otherwise you will loose some

so i have to take it out to get to the A/C Expansion Valve
