HVAC control problem

So i got in my car this mornin. turned my selector knob to defrost and notice no air coming out of the top of the dash, BUT air is blowing out of my vents. then realized that all the selections EVEN OFF had air still blowing through my vents while driving. i think it is stuck internally on VENT mode. which would be the reason that air comes out of only the vents and not the floor nor top of dash. NOW... What would cause this? Is there a way i can get to the problem easily?
Thanks.

You lost your vacuum source. I have the same problem with my car since I removed the vacuum lines and I'm finally correcting it tonight actually.
You must have a broken vacuum line somewhere. Mine goes from the HVAC controls out the passenger wiring bulkhead and then disappeared in the wiring harness by the firewall.

Oh man I checked the drivers side on mine. I'll check the passenger side. Very strange, but everything works for me when it's hot out. When it gets cold I have a switching problem. I was told it was the control valve on the passenger side that controls the doors. I can't find a photo.

Vac line on 94-95 runs right below the battery down to the canister next to the trans, at least on 3100, not sure on 2.2's but thats the line that will crack the quickest.
96 they fixed it somewhat and ran the line fully in the wiring harness and it comes out right next to the vac modulator.

I checked that one and it held vacuum. Also changed the tee in the lines. Oh yeah the reservoir, the canistor is on the other side of the car. Sorry it's been a long week.
