I got an 88 beretta with the seatbelts mounted on the pillar. my drivers door (powerwindows) is rusted to hell so I need a new one. Now the later 88 berettas had the seatbelts mounted on the door. My question is can I  take all the seatbelt stuff out of a later 88' door and swap my door panel on there?

You can do the swap as the door and door skin are the same part number.  Actually, you can use the door up to the 1990 Beretta.  Maybe even later?

try www.car-part.com for a door.  Pretty good junkyard search engine with real results dispplayed, not email follow-ups.

The difference is in the regulator and window hardware, the door part is the same so... Yes.

Could still work.  Check one out at the junkyard.  I have the pillar belts too.  The door is really the same tho, just different trim panels and stuff mounted inside.  They really only make one door whether you have otptions or not, just might need to drill a hole or two for mounts.

Yes, you can get a door from a later car with door-mounted seatbelts, but I REALLY wouldn't recommend it.  The upper seatbelt anchor is extremely tough to remove and takes a whole lot of drilling and prying, and even some cutting...and then you have holes to patch  You'll save yourself a lot of trouble if you get an '87/early '88 door.  If you had to, you could get a '91-'93 door (they had pillar-mounted seatbelts) though there would be some conversion there, too.  Best of luck

I'll need it, I can always just chop  the top seatbelt piece off and just weld a piece of metal over it.  Finding the door though has been the tricky part for me ive found a bunch of 91+ door but no 87-88.

Up to 90 is ok.  found some on the site in my previous reply.  As for patching, I would just fill in the threaded hole with a weld, why cut it out if it doesn't stick out, unlrss it does, I hinestly haven't really looked at the door belts that close.

Wellll yeah....I guess it never occurs to me to just do a quick fix....I try to always make everything just like factory.  So yes, you could unbolt the upper anchor and cut the metal piece off, leaving part of it inside the door.  Better than a rusted door, huh?

trim it down to the door, weld in the rest of the hole and then grind smooth... factory finish easier than a patch!
