Why go back in time with a carb? Is the wheelbase going to stay the same?

Are you looking for a rock crawler? That's about all that old carbed 3.8 is good for - low end torque.

Why the HELL would you use that engine? Theres so many better, lighter, and more reliable options.
Did you find a tbird rear that matches the bravada front diff?

im using a 3.8 carbed because it is readily available and i know it runs. the first step i need to complete is to get this car rolling with AWD fully functioning. the engine i realy want to use is a 87 turbo 3.8l.
the gears for the bravada are the same for blazers as well, and can be bought in a meriad of ratios. i haven't picked a matching ratio yet, but i know there are several that match. im hopeing to get a SC T-bird rear for the detroit locker and better brakes, but i can easily get a base t bird rear. this whole project is mostly being supplied by a yard thats ran by a retired MSgt (that i work with) and his son.Link to FB page-

Hmm... cool. Sounds like you have put a good amount of thought into this. Keep us updated with new pictures as such as they become available. Would be cool to see this happen.

FYI, you dont need it from a SC. I am almost 100% positive that SC's got 3.08 gears. There were PLEANTY of stock(or sport models) that came with 3.27 gears and trac lock. Just find a set that has rear disc which, again, came in MORE than the SC's. IIRC, the rear discs are the same no matter what. The fronts are what got larger diameter rotors.

What is your goal with this car if you don't mind me asking? What do you want it to do? Are you trying to be competitive with subys and mitsus? Or are you just looking for more traction in the snow?
