My question is, why rebuild the motor and now need an oil pump? Did you not bother to change it when it was rebuilt, or did someone screw the rebuild up? Be lucky if it would fetch 1k.

I thought the price was high also, maybe some negotiating can bring it down?

I find that odd they didnt change the oil pump while they had it apart.. especially having 200k on it. The motor I swapped into my Z had 109k and I still put a new oil pump on it before I put it in.

Your probably right, the engine build probably got messed up and they are covering it up by saying the oil pump is bad.

or they are idiots and it has a bad sending unit on it so its reading no or low oil pressure and they never checked with a manual gauge... Could be a $15 fix.
