Almost any if you save the side cover. That is the only thing that changed that I know of. 3X00 would be the best support on this. I just have a Grand Prix trans with a Beretta cover. Much better FDR. I can give you a link for 4T60e info if you want.

I believe any 4T60e, as long as you keep the L-body side cover as mentioned above.

Available up to 99 in Monte Carlo's, Lumina's, Century's, and Grand Prix's with the 3100. Also available on 96-98 N-body's.

You guys and your two extra cylinders and transmissions that shift for you. I need to bone up on this info. I want to put an OD trans in the red car.

I am not looking to change gear ratios, stall, anything really. Just the trans. Swapping side covers is fine. What about ECM? Will that be okay with a newer trans?

If I was the project leader this would be a 282/f23 operation but this is just a weekend swap to get my brother back on the road again.

Status is!!!!!

Its in my garage. And so is the front motor mount and the shifter/cables. I have not touched it for a good 2 months or so. I have lost a lot of motivation for the beretta. Hopefully it will come back this winter.

Well if it doesnt if the headers will work on a 4t60e ill buy them lol. But, 3100s will have stock fdr nd stall so it will be fine woth the ecm. In my other beretta (gf car my old car) it had a 95 beretta trans with a 2.93fdr nd it was fine.

3.29 ratio will work fine on the 95 ecm.. but it gets cranky on the 96, go figure. And it would be harder to find a Lbody 2.97 ratio trans than to just go with the Newest buick century one.

Jon, the 95 and older transmissions have crappy low roller sprags and raw aluminum valves in the valve body, thats why I will only use 96+ for a core/hard parts and I like to use 99 valve body parts and such.

So I am best off getting a 60e from a newer car, assuming that it has the 3100 in it? obdII cars are going to be okay? I am all for getting a newer, less mileage trans, but like I said it needs to be a direct swap with no computer issues. Side cover swapping is okay

Thats prolly the reason one of the trans i got was from a 94 beretta and im pretty sure i had stuck valves. I had to rev the sh$$ outta the car for it to pop into gear. Reverse nd any drive gear. It sucked only when it was cold. That trans i scrapped lol. Than i got the 95 trans and so far its ok. It doesnt like the bigger stall though. I dont know if it cpuld ne tuned for a 2095 stall if so could you do it jon? But barry like jon said, newer century nd be done with it lol.

I don't know if it matters as much, but some of the other cars have different quadrants ( PRN(D)DL in the beretta versus PRND321 in a W-Body )

Okay, so I can get a 60e from any 3100 century, swap side covers, put it in his car, and have everything work properly?

quick question, why do you need to swap side covers? i thought the only thing that would change if its still the 4t60e is the trans mount and where the linkage goes. mine had to be changed when i got my trans from a 95 beretta. i just swapped out the trans mount and the piece that the linkage goes to.
