Especialy when you find it caked onto a sparkplug. replaced all of them a week ago and the wire to see if it was a old problem. Got a bad miss and found the same thing. I have 3 theorys. Pcv valve is stuck open causing oil to be dumped into center front cylinder. Number 2 is bad headgasket and 3 bad piston rings. Want to know if th pcv valve being bad could cause this or if its a more intensive problem.
My shifter linkage is missing the front to back bushing. Could not get it from rockauto or oriellys. Does anyone have a part # or a source?

PCV valve would just send oil through all of the cylinders, not just one...
HG failure will most of the time not cause oil to leak into a cylinder either... You have a bad valve guide letting oil into the intake side or you have bad rings on that cylinder. Those are more likely the problems. Borrow a leak down, or compression tester from a auto parts store and see what that cylinder comes up as... That will tell you if its rings or something else.

As already stated. Bad piston rings or a bad valve seal.

narrowed it down to the valve seal in cylinder #4.

How do those stay in place? They look like they just sit on there.
I've found a 3500 top end inc cam, heads, intake, and throttle body. I've heard of people just using the top end but want to know if I can still go over to obdII or if I can even run the top end with obdI. I do have the ffp chip from my old car, if that is even helpful.
