I have a 94 with a big problem.

I was driving when i lost power to the radio, the dome and floor lights came on and stay on and the chime (to let you know the keys are in the ignition while the door is open) continually puts out its noise even with the key removed and the door closed.

The radio is thus far pooched as i can not figure out where the power went and the lights and ding are taken care of when I pull fuse #11.

Fuse 11 runs the chimes, the interior lights and the radio. There is something seriously wrong with this circut but i cannot find an obvious answer. I pulled the radio out and inspected the wires but found no breaks.
I have been told that unplugging the chime module under the dash and replugging it in could work but it did not.

I corrected the problem. I'm burying the Beretta in a very special place and buying either a new Volvo or a VW.  I will miss that car though.

I've had it since she was an ignored 94 model in the crazy year of 1996. Brand new, 75 Km racked up. Almost 11 years later at 282,000 Km i just can't keep the body and electrical together even though mechanically she's a-ok. Friends said I would be buried in that car, I wish they were right. It was the best possible car anyone could ask for.

The memories of an 80,000 Km haul with no oil change, pulling the 4X4 out of the ditch, driving almost sideways on dry pavement and all the other stupid impressive things the Beretta and I did together. She had her own personality which saved my butt on a few occassions. She will be missed.

The chime module you had unplugged, was it the MICAM? (i think it's pink on a '94)?

I really wish you found the actual problem with this.  I to am in the situation with the lights staying on and the chime never stops along with the radio going off.

I so far just took the radio on wire and wired it directly to fuse 11 block.  As for the lights and shime, removal of the fuse at a sacrifice of no lights with door the open.

I'm pretty sure there were issues with that original '94 MICAM...

She will be gone in Jan but she's good for parts. Need anything?

Ottawa, On

-- edit--

I sorry, I should have mentioned this before. I can't let any parts go until Jan as I have to drive the car until the new one is delivered.
