Ok just had a quick question pertaining to the usual leaky areas... I've see water leak behind the glove compartment now I thought I had caulked the firewall underneath the cowl well but apparantly not...also the other day beneath my driver floor mat was wet but had no idea where the water was coming from for that area to be wet....anyone else have this problem and what have you used to stop this?

where the wheelwell meets the firewall on the inside...underneath the kick panel speakers type area. theres a seam in there that leaks too. you'll prolly have to pull your carpet back to gain access to it. I used to have pics of it when i resealed mine a few years ago.
I just used underbody coating, not the spray stuff either, the tar crap you brush on that come in a paint can.

On the main page of this website, on the right, there is a link to information about diagnosing water leaks. I found that information invaluable when I was troubleshooting the 1/4" of water in the rugs of the passenger side of the car after driving in the rain. From personal experience, I found it easier to remove the seats, remove the glovebox and bottom trim, then have an assistant put a garden hose to the car while you have eyes on the car's interior to see where the leak is coming from. To seal the leaks, I used black polyurethane roofing sealant from Home Depot. Good luck!
