I think its broken
so..so this evening on the way home (90 mile trip) I was dealing with a idiot in a fairly slow car...but was also accelerating hard and noticing it was taking me longer than usual...shifted outa 3rd at 6700rpm and went into 4th and noticed the car wasn't pulling at all......(but was still enough to put some nice distance on this guy)
so...the ride home the car was misfiring/running rough when I was going uphill...if i took the car into another gear it would be fine and I could accelerate...by the time I got home the car was running fine again and not misfiring under load
93 quad..253,XXX original miles....what should I look for....

My first check would be ignition module and ignition coils.

Sounds more like a faulty plug or plug boot to me. Pull your IDI cover, and check the ICM Module for cracks/heat stress. Then look at your plug boots and plugs. GL.
