Wtf,lol. Looks like he primered the trans AND the clutch?? And half assed too........ I'd be wary, but it IS a Getrag. They're fairly bullet proof.
And it's external slave. Odds are good it's a 3.94 FDR.

It's a 1990 GTZ transmission, so it's not a 3.94 FDR, it's a 3.61 FDR... 92-94 are 3.94 FDR...

Meh, didn't see the ad description. W/E. Doesn't mean it wasn't swapped.
Oh, and yeah, I think I know what years are 3.94 as I have two of those trannies in cars in my driveway. Simply overlooked the descripton.

You have that backwards anyway Mike. Most if not all external slave getrags are 3.61.

My Quasar is EXTERNAL slave. It's a 3.94.

So you have non bleedable slaves?

All slaves are bleedable one way or another. But if you're asking about the bleeder screw, no , the GTZ doesn't have one. It's a 3.94 external slave cylinder.
I corrected the SCX. Strange though, as my last SCX was a '93 and was a 3.94 external slave as well. This one however has an internal slave. Leading me to further believe the motor is an HO as it was transplanted trans and all from another car according the owner before Geoff and me.

Mike, if your old SCX was an external slave 3.94, then someone changed it. GM does not have on its list of codes the option for an external slave after early 92. Since 92 was the change over year, EVERY late 92-94 Getrag trans was internal slave, HO or W41, it did not matter, they ALL went to internal slave. I spent over a two weeks researching this and digging thru GM records when i went 3.94 shopping making sure i got what i wanted. The SCX i traded you has a drivetrain from another 92 SCX, also was an internal slave 3.94 as well as the trans that came out of it.

I had a 1992 GTZ with external.
I have sold 5 external 3.94's from LGO's. All were 1992's. From this forum that are still around Brad with flamin Z has one....Cameron has another. etc.
The non bleeder external design can be bench bled. You push the slave in to bleed.

Most 92 were internal. IIRC, anything build date post April 92 should be internal. So MOST 3.94 through the years were internal. I'm just saying its more likely, not that it can't be.
