Actually, I have seen it, in my driveway. He bought GTZ wheels from me. It's currently drinking coolant internally and I remember the paint actually having a slightly more tealish tint to it. When it was repainted, they must've mixed it wrong. The body is in excellent shape tho, which is very hard to come by in this area. He was asking for $4500 a year ago.

sweet, glad to see someone picked it up, you should just fix the engine in it, your probably not going to find an h.o motor with the correct cams and parts if you buy from some supplier, unless you buy a brand new crate motor and im not sure they even exsist?

Ahh! I was wondering if you got it! I had heard that he traded it for a Sunfire. I would just buy a good 086 head off the quad 4 forums, and pull the pan to inspect the crank and rod bearings. While the head is off, I would buy ARP head studs and a good quality head gasket! Bolt it back together and away you go!

Hoping to get it back on the road in the next few weeks!

LOL! Well, I did spend a pretty penny on it (more than I've ever spent on a car that doesn't run!

) plus $$ travel expenses, so whatever that means... I wish I could still see that Craigslist ad from way back when. I tried; its long gone, no cached copies.
It does appear to have had at least the passenger side door repainted at some point, but other than that, everything else looks fairly original. To me, it looks just like my old 93 Quasar GTZ, not too teal. I have found one tiny rust hole (about 3/8"); Its where the booster attaches to the firewall, the sealer apparently was crumbled in that area underneath the booster and some water got in. Really, its not a big deal, I'll get it sealed back up pretty easy.

I can't tell by the pics, but is the area around the turn signals/fog lights still black?
That is usually the give away that a GTZ has been painted.
I was insistent that that area on mine was black when it was painted.

Yup, they're still black - I've been all around the car and as far as I can tell, just the pass side door was redone - CarFax doesn't show an accident, so who knows why...

If it's just the door it may have been minor and not reported.
Car looks pretty sweet.

Cam. that is a lesson well learned and a bit of a sore spot.
Car is gone, evidently to someone who actually posted on here for a bit.
Suffice that the car was basically "legally" stolen from me by my EX!
I was in the hospital and the car was still in her name.
By the time Barb found out about it the storage fees were $2800 and I was still undergoing chemo.
She was going to get it, but i told her to let it go.
I'm 61 years old and it was over for that project.
Embarrassing? a bit, but life goes on.
Read my sig.
Gone but it was over!
