This is on a 1989 Beretta 2.8 engine. My dash clusters do not read right, When I have a full tank it says I have 1/2, the temp. gauge never moves,ect. Also my hearter blows luke warm air it never gets hot, There is no wet carpet so figure it is not the hearter core. All fuses are good. If some one could please tell me whatto look for I would be very thankfull, Thank you very much

Your instrument cluster may be going out or your car has multiple problems.  If you're only getting lukewarm air and your temp gauge never moves (I take it it reads cold?) maybe your engine isn't warming up as it should, which would probably mean a bad thermostat.  If you feel the engine and it's hot, it should be fine.  In that case I'd suspect a bypassed heater core, bad cold/hot pot. in the climate controls, stuck blend door, or bad temp. valve motor (by your right knee...3 wires:  red, black, brown).  The other possibility for the fuel gauge problem is a bad fuel sender (expensive).

wow did i forget to let you know it was the thermostat Ihave heat now.But the cluster is not reading right It all lights up but not given me the correct readings . I took it out to be sure it was plugged all the way in it was. is there some thing i need to reset?

Glad you got the heat fixed.  It sounds like you have the digital cluster.  The cluster could be going bad, or sensors could be going bad, or the readings are right and your car has problems.  There's nothing you can reset that will fix it.

what sensors do I ****. that have to do with the digital cluster ?I was haveing  trouble with it stalln at the stop signs, but I just got done fixing that by cleaning the throttle body and everything that hooks to it,and cleaning the EGR.also had to set the Throttle body sensor to the correct length.also replaced the o2 sencer while I was at it. just did that last sat. runs GREAT now.Again if there is another sensor that would mess with the readings on this digital cluster please let me know. Thank you very much

well, as much as i would like to try and help the only thing i'd come up with is punching the dash over and over and i don't think that would help at all

The sensors I'm referring to are the senders that provide information for the gauges.  So if your oil pressure gauge is reading wrong, maybe your oil pressure sender is bad.  If your fuel gauge is reading wrong, maybe your fuel sender is bad.  If all, or almost all, of your gauges are reading wrong I would suspect a bad digital cluster but it's best to test sensors and stuff before getting another cluster (unless you have a spare you can swap in to see if it reads the same).

How do I test the sensors?

One option is to use a scan tool to verify readings (not a code puller...big difference).  You can also swap out sensors to see if things get better.  Or you can get a factory service manual which will tell you how to test different sensors.  eBay is the best place to get factory manuals for cheap.
