i have a question, i recently purchased the gtz that illusion(mike) owned, then penfold bought from him and beat into the ground, some people say it has w41 cams, some say it dont... i have not been able to get ahold of mike, afaik the only mods done to it by mike are as follows.. ported intake and exhaust manifolds, 2.5in exhaust(wich im certain of becouse i had to replace a section of it), 3.94 trans, and a new 086 head with a top end rebuild, eibach springs(i havnt been able to confirm this yet), kyb or koni shocks and struts( i honestly cant remember but the sticker is on the one strut yet), z51 rear sway bar, and a strut tower brace.

in penfolds ownership the things done to it were the god awfull seat instalation of porshe or nissan z seats, the hack job of leather wrapping the dash, and the spray painted black interior that im still trying to find replacement parts for.

does anybody know what else mike did to the motor, if anything else or any way to get ahold of him to confirm the springs, and the cams? and if anything else was done with the motor, all i know is it ran a 14.9 quarter mile when he had it last i heard.

As far as I remember, Mike installed a W41 chip, but not the cams.

Photos of seat installation? I always wondered how that really turned out.

no cams at all just everything ported and spec 2 or 3 clutch and aluminum flywheel and what you have mentioned.
i almost bought this car 2 yrs ago when penfold was trying sell but he backed out twice on me

honestly, be glad you didnt, its a dam nightmare, the springs are shot, its got a lot of surface rust under it(mostly from sitting), he drilled holes through the floor and used long bolts that ran down under the car to bolt in tthe other seats(required a saw-zall and a major headache to remove) i actually just cut the seat frames he mounted in. he hacked the living crap out of the wiring, the shifter is destroyed, half the lights dont work, if he didnt spray paint something in the interior black its completly missing, half the wiring harness is missing(i.e. interior lights, hacked into the rear defroster wiring, cluster dont light up for an unknown reason, cig lighter wires are gone, theres extra wires that run no place ect.. its a dam nightmare) and the list just keeps going, but i think with just that knowledge you would know what its been put through... oh, and it smokes blue smoke(indication of burning oil). its deffinetly a project and a half...

I will agree to that. My recent purchase (3400 Z26) the wiring was all chopped up in it. I'm thankful for the condition of my Quad Z26 its all original not been messed with.

Shoulda kept the Quad Z26 lol

I still have it. But there was a dent in every panel, it needed a lot of work. And I just wasn't a fan of quad z26's. Sorry

If you were cool you would look for them down here. I bought mine all original and only a bit of rust on the spring perches.

I remember him posting pics of stuff and it always looked pretty terrible. Just hope you didn't pay too much for the car.
