My introduction

Post by Camorsica »

New to this site, been a member on TGO and 60degreev6 for a while, recently got a 1996 3100 Corsica as my DD.
My other car is a 1985 camaro, hence the name Camorsica, which came to me when I saw a car that reminded me of an el camino, which in turn reminded me of the "el camaros", which made me ponder what a corsica might look like with a camaro front clip and or body on it. My conclusion was that it would probably look quite strange and silly. I am currently an ASEP automotive student at CCAC in pittsburgh, pa. And begin my internship with kenny ross on saturday, finally gonna have some money for my cars again. I have found I am absolutely incorrigible when it comes to modding my cars, I didn't have the corsica for more than a week before I put the 3400 TB on it...

As for about my cars, my corsica has only a handful of minor mods/work done to it so far, I put a modified 3400 TB on it, new TPS, new front o2 sensor, new cig lighter socket(wasn't working and I can't live without gps), headunit install, and pioneer 6x9s in the back, I cut out the fiberboard to mount them on top as they are good looking speakers and I don't want that crap hiding them and distorting and muffling the sound as well, I'm quite happy with how it turned out, also when I upgrade them all I have to do is unscrew them :P

Currently it still needs new HVAC knobs, one had a diff type on it that didn't match, 1 cracked through since I owned it, the remaining one has a crack that just hasn't opened up yet, I get the impression its a common issue...
Also needs a new shift indicator, as the adjustment/locating tab in it was broke, so the shifter would catch opposite ends of the indicator everytime it changed direction, thus never being accurate. Lastly, I have an exhaust leak on my rear manifold, which caused me much agony, as for 2 weeks I could not figure out why my car was running horribly on the highway, with no power. Turns out the seafoam hadn't wonked out a sensor like I had thought(thought my o2 got clogged, it was reading off a little bit). But rather my exhaust leak was setting off false knock readings, which explains why I had a knock sensor in the block, with another hanging by the electrical pigtail. It was pulling as much as 22* of timing if I recall, I know for sure I saw a 17 if not higher, going up hills on the highway was FUN...

Welcome aboard. TGO is a good site, but I think you'll find this one very helpful too.

Welcome. I assume TGO=thirdgen.org (?)
Very familiar with the f bodies, been a member of T3G (team3rdgen.com) for a long time. I've had more f bodies then you can count on both hands! lol :D

Don't have any at the moment though.
Mostly you meet friends when traveling by accident, like by sitting next to them on the train, or in a restaurant, or in a holding cell.
