Can someone tell me what the heck this tool is? My dad and i have been trying to find out a for a lil while now and no one around here seems to know. Its made of Aluminum not steel and appears to be a tap for something, but not sure what things you can tap threads into with aluminum. Any ideas?

Looks like some type of thread tap device? We had (QC guy did) alum stuff at my prev job, we had these types of taps.

It might be a gauge to check threads on a machined device. A "go/no-go" gauge if you will.

Def. not for spark plugs. Both ends are actually about 1.35" in diameter. They are fairly big and really soft metal. Some of the threads are really wide on two of them...
