Just looking to see if anyone has done this or seen this done on the web. I was thinking about swapping them out..doesn't seem too hard should be a few bolts right, and it shouldn't hurt as far as breathing goes? Any pics or links would be sweet...thanks

I have a pic at the house; honestly it doesn't look right. But I'll let you be the judge once I put a picture up.

You have to cut some of the solid grille to make it fit onto stock bumper, relatively easy task, you will figure it out when you have it on hand.
I am using solid grille on my W26, some days I think it looks weird but then I remember the bigger gaps between the eggcrate and everything else make it look older and cheaper, so I still end up using the solid grille after all..

The pic I have is of a black GTU; it's from BFest 2002. It's actually 4 GTU's; 2 red, 1 white, 1 black. Only 1 of the members is still around.

Personally, I never cared much for the solid. Egg crate! Now I could object to a color vs black with them sometimes... I will say the solid looks right with the Z04 styling, so that is where it belongs. But that's just my opinion. lol

i think the solid looks better on my gtz than the eggcrate it came with, but on my gt i liked the color-matched eggcrate more than a solid. personal preference but i like the base/ gt body more with the eggcrate

One thing you have to be wary of is that if you have the digital dash, your outside temp sensor is hooked up to the grille so you'll have to move that elsewhere if you want it to keep working. Not having it work won't affect performance.

I've actually got an eggcrate that I'm going to try out on my car for a little bit.

Nope that was the one you sent me Chris! I've been toying with the idea most of the summer.
