in park......step on the brake......headlights dim

i've noticed that lately when i step on the brake to shift out of park my headlights and dashlights dim for a second. they also do it when i roll up the windows while parked. any ideas?

that's pretty average/normal. if it's extremely noticeable, you may want to get your alternator tested, and the battery as well.

the 'big 3' i think it is, extra, and larger grounding wires in the engine bay, can help with that i have heard.

Yep, quite normal. My Z does it more than the base, but they both do it.

That's because when you hit the brake the brake booster is drawing power along with the taillights

my 96 does that, with the windows... and actually once in a while while driving down the road it surges once in a while i see the amp meter drop when it does it and goes right back up like someone kicked in a drew a ton of power and shuts back off. i have a newer alternator and a red top optimum battery. and 6 gauge wire running from the alternator directly to the battery.

Does the same thing with my stereo amp, i killed 3 alternators in my 88 like that lol. but even nothing turned on my 96 does it time to time random...

Ditto on my 89GT. Headlights on, normal driving, take foot off gas, rolling up to stop sign or stop light, press brake, everything dims briefly from the initial current inrush.
