what do you guys think of this?

heavy duty card board cut to shape, held up with magnets and/ or heavy duty velcro, and covered with felt or headliner material.

I say fail. But only because you said cardboard. You will have to cut it AND "mold" it to the shape of the roof. You're much better off going to a junkyard and pulling a used one in my opinion.

But you never know! Give it a shot...
