Hello,
Anyone in Texas with a 3400 engine bolted to a 5 spped manual ? Id like to see/feel one so I can decide if I should go ahead and do it to mine.
Thanks Craig~

Last I checked there were between 4 and 6 people with 3x00s and 5 speeds, depending on whether or not others completed it. But 4 for sure, and I think only 1 of them did it with a 3400. I'm not sure if any of them even live near Texas. If you have a 91 GTZ, as your name implies, and it's a 5 speed, you would be happy enough with that, I'm not sure a 3400 would be all that more different, a bit more torque, but there are easier ways of getting that than swapping engines. If its a granny tranny, and I'll never understand why anyone would put them or want them in higher performance models, just swap that out.

Hello HateMyAuto,
Thanks..yes I have a 91 GTZ but is a 3100/Auto. If I like 3400/5spd I was going to maybe get a donor car such as a 88 GT or a GTU for the trans and shifter stuff and buy the 3400 outright.
Cheers !

What year 3100? If it's a 2000+ that you swapped in there then you won't get much more power over the 3400 since the only difference would be .3 more displacement.
If youre calling your stock motor a 3100, it's not, it's a 3.1 mpfi motor.

Agreed... especially when Mike was going to the track like every weekend it seems and taking a tenth of the time til he hit that mark
