So I bought a Ford......
It is a V6 but that's all I wanted/needed.
2007 with 20K on it. Loving it so far. Oh, and excuse my crappy cell phone pics....

14.1 I could see.. its all about how you drive it. With my 2.4 4 cylinder Malibu on a busy Friday night it will say high 16's to low 17's on the average MPG being all in town. Driving it like you should, it should go up 2 to 3 mpg average.

That's nuts, granted yeah I've seen low mpg on my boosted legacy too but my average is almost always over 21 per tank, unless I beat on it right after I reset the trip odometer

Yeah I think it's low because the guy lived in the city of Chicago where traffic is awful. I'm hoping the MPGs go up when I start driving it more out here in the less crowded suburbs. Ford estimates it at 19 MPG city, so we'll see.

If you want something really cool You should get sequential taillights for your mustang. My bfs dad has an 05 that we just installed them on. He said he gets 31 MPG with his V6. it will get better the more it gets driven.

Also when your in the city he said not to let it go into overdrive. it will use a bit more gas.

Thanks for the tip. The MPG are already getting better the more I drive it so I'm not too worried about it.
Sequential tail lights are on the top of my list!

I thought V6 Mustangs did better than that. I averaged 28-30mpg on my trip to Florida in a V8 Impala. Granted it does shut down to 4 cylinders but still.

There should be a button on the right side of the shifter that will turn your overdrive on and off.

Hell, I was looking at a new (2011) Ford Ranger for the lil lady tonight. EPA estimated fuel mileage with a 4.0L V-6 Auto? Jaw dropping 15 City and 19 Hwy. WTH?? My full size '05 F150 with a 5.4L V8 gets 17mpg city and about 22 hwy!

NICE!!!! Another Beretta / Mustang owner! We have an '03 V-6 they are fun little toys even with the V-6. Yours would run all over ours though, I learned that from experience. I wouldn't mind having one of the 2012's with 305hp!

And yes, Rangers suck on gas. We have a '98 with the 3.0 and it only gets 18mpg.

my dad loves his mustang. At least you bought something that has aftermarket. :)

My saturn got 37.1mpg on the way home from Northern WI yesterday. I hope I can raise that by about 3-4mpg with a little tweaking.

It does have a massive after market which scares me a little lol. Have to control my urge to buy stuff for it.
Funny thing is I had a Saturn before this. It's an old crappy 1995 but it does get fantastic gas mileage. Not sure of the MPGs but a full tank easily lasts 2 weeks. And it only holds like 11 gallons. I'm gonna miss that little old beater.
