Well with our Berettas known to leak and have water found in the interior. As anyone tried using the spray can that sprays out liquid rubber. I attempted to seal my water leak with the common 3m black stuff but seems it only fixed the pass side. And in the process I managed to break the housing for the blower....I tried my best to cover up the cracks and what not.

I have always wanted to try the "as seen on TV" stuff. You know, the commercial where the guy installs a screen door on the bottom of a boat with just a spray sealer? Yeah, that stuff. Seems to be top notch!

Used flex seal around a few places in my house and so far it's worked great! Got rid of a few seeping leaks between some concrete blocks!

Sure would like to see if it can work on a car. The rubber roofing stuff sure doesn't.

ive been thinking of getting some of that flex seal stuff and trying it on the rivets on my aluminum fishing boat.

my 88 has a few strange leaks though.. was on the passenger side and i took everything apart and used urethane windshield caulking, on the driver side it leaks around the steering column.

In the trunk there is no rust anywhere, all the original sealant is still there and not cracked. it leaks in the strangest place... its leaking on the drive side where the 1/4 panel meets the trunk pan in the back corner behind the tail light down in that corner. i have urethane all around the trunk on the top and behind the tail light and it still just runs in there when it rains.

its been parked since last fall and still currently parked from winter and been covered the whole time to keep water out, one of those things i have to get to soon before i start driving it again..

the flex seal stuff seams like it might be good for a try anyways. i was going to see if i can get seam sealer color matched so it doesnt look like hell on the inside of the trunk and do all the seams with that and hope to stop the dam leaks lol. my 96 hasnt started leaking yet, my 88 has NO rust at all visible anywhere and i dont understand why it keeps leaking its nerve racking trying to get the leaks stopped. the fire wall is kinda a pain to do when the engine is in the only real way to get it sealed 100% is to pull the engine and go nuts at it.

Check the seal on your rear windshield. I had a spot where it wasn't quite complete and it let water in, it trickled down into the trunk and then into the spare tire well and pooled up. It took me forever to figure this one out!

That is just rubberized undercoating, you know that right?

As far as firewall leaks in our cars... this is what I did to mine. Many will say its the seal under the cowl but that seal everyone says to go after is simply the cowl fron to the firewall which is a solid piece of metal from the windshield curved down under the cowl and to the base under the ps rack where the floor pan starts, so sealing that cowl area only stops water from getting under where that part is welded to the firewall itself.

This is where I ripped out all the factory sealant and replaced it with new Napa firewall glue.

And get all around the brake booster, the drivers side cowl is probably the only cowl area that NEEDS to be sealed since it leads to right were the brake booster seal to the firewall is.







The passenger side leak is typically from the fresh air vent you need to seal that better to the firewall, but the cowl seam there isn't what causes a leak.

It doesnt hurt to seal these area's but they only lead into the engine bay.

ya i need to take the time and remove all the trunk carpet and start spraying it with water. it leaks in the front too on the driver side it just pours in around the steering column. im now thinking thats coming from the brake booster or around the column.

I didnt notice the rear until i herd water plashing around and my tire well was full lol. .

Ive sealed the cowl part all up and the heater box. but like 3X00 just said thats not where it leaks from.. now i got another job to do ... thanks lol..

its still covered up and been parked so its no rush for me but id like to get it done in my spare time so i can start driving it again i miss my 5 speed.
