My new second car

Here's my new 95 Z26 that I picked up last week. Needs some work but I'll be fixing it slowly as it is a second vehicle. I did throw my GTU wheels on as I truly hate the Z26 wheels. Here's some pics:

Looks pretty sharp. I think the GTU wheels look really good on there. I'd suggest painting the inserts body color to match the rest of the car

Yeah, I've been toying with that idea. I have to replace the cracked spoiler and I'm thinking of getting another decklid and putting on my spare GTU wedge. I figure when I get that painted I may have him paint the wheels too. There's quite a few things to take care of first tho.

Nice find. Not sure how I feel about the wheels, but then I guess I always like the Z wheels.. LOL But those look good there with that color.
Good luck on the work you need to do, know how that is.

Thanks! Other than the steering rack, tensioner, swaybar endlinks, visors, hood latch cable, and rear shocks I've already done there's the rust I've gotta deal with before it gets any worse and the terrible wiring mess the previous idiot left for me to clean up. Other than that it should be a lot of small stuff.

So this afternoon I took some time to start going thru the car to see what shape the trunk and floor were in. The plan is to fix whatever rust I find with some sanding and a good coat of POR15 before hitting everything with undercoating. Well I was VERY pleased with the trunk and shock towers. When I went to pull off the last piece of insulation I had to pull the rear seat and seat back out to free it and when I did I stumbled upon a level of idiocy that I've never seen before. Here's some pics:
Yes that piece of tin was just sitting there loose.

So out of complete laziness this effin moron ruined what was a really nice floor. Now I've got that much MORE work to do. I'm a firm believer that this world needs an enema, and they could start with this DB.

Wow. Now that is lazy. Effective I guess, but then you don't know for sure who did it either do you? lol

That's not just lazy...that's a safety hazard with fuel lines not properly isolated from the passenger compartment.

Wow, I know some do that to gain access rather than dropping the tank, but they properly close up the hole re-using the part they removed.
I'd pay the guy who owned it a visit and ask him if he worked on the fuel pump at all...

Make a bolt on cover to cover that up. My 240 and my BMW has those. I changed a fuel pump in the BMW in a parking lot in 20 minutes.
Just a piece of 14 gauge sheet, some rivets or speed nuts, and some fuel proof gasket material would make a safe cover. So convenient when the pump needs to be changed

I agree on making a bolt on cover =). If the PO had thought about it a bit more than an easy way out, I would have said that it was an awesome mod.
I saw this car in person the other day. It's a little rough around the edges but boy does it look slick. The GTU wheels look killer on it.
