So yesterday was my first time driving the indy. she did great, but thats not my point while at work i had two people come in and talk to me about my car. The first guy lives close to me and he says he collects beretta stuff. he also told me he could fix my gauges for 50 bucks. he gave his last card to my co worker so im going to call her and see if she can write his number on my schedule for next week. but anyways cant wait to see what beretta treasures he holds. he is also the reason we find nothing we want at the junk yard in holland. he has guys go in a few times a month and grab beretta stuff then he sells it on ebay. which kinda upset me a bit when he said that because we go there once a week now that were working. (i would rather be there then dining out.) im hoping he actually has some good stuff and doesnt charge much. but the second guy that came in told me i have a car thats worth alot. (even though it has alot wrong with it.)

Yeah well, I have been looking for a yellow Indy with a manual transmission for a little while now. lol

They are hard to find though. Rarity and value is determined by interest. If no one cars about a car that no longer exists much, is it really worth anything? Beretta's in general are a unique car, but most people wouldn't give two flying craps about them.

They were built basically as a poor man's Camaro, (which is a poor man's Corvette, lol) and therefore designated to be in the throwaway class of car. Indy's are special for two reasons. One they were badged for the Indy 500 in 1990 as the official pace car (despite the official pace car being a convertible) and two, they had a lot of nice features and not many were built, especially the Yellow ones.

So yeah, there is some rarity there, especially for the yellow Indy.

i think the only reason that people that know the berettas were talking to me about it was the fact that it is an indy. The 89 base/GT gets parked not even a mile down the road earlier in the day but noone asks about it. may be the fact that it gets parked in a bigger lot. also when driving down the road i forget that the car is loud as ****, and the hood is beat to crap. alot of people were staring at the car but i have no idea if its because of the car its self or that it is so loud. i out gas in the car yesterday then drove back by the house jking was in the basement and said that he knew when i went by because he could hear it. i have to roll my windows down in the car when im driving because its so loud. anyways probably gonna take it to see it old owner just to show him that all it takes is a little time and dedication to get the car going.

Or it could be that it's a bright yellow car, which usually catches any passer-by's eye since you don't see that color often on the road.

Thats what i mean by being an indy. but the first guy i talked to the first thing he asked me is if i wanted to sell it. i told him no and that it was my first time even being able to drive it. i love these cars. and after seeing alot of people on here that sell their cars and minutes later they wish they had it back i really dont want to sell it anytime soon. also for the digital gauges does the computer save the milage or if i swapped for a different cluster would it show a different milage or the same thats on the car?

There is a chip in the cluster that stores the mileage. I *think* the chip can be swapped between clusters, but don't quote me on that.

If your guy can't fix the cluster, give these guys a try: http://www.autoecu.com/
