Hi all,
So on the Corsica with the 2.0 (89) I think maybe the purge valve is maybe stuck open? The car runs very very very rich when it is below 50 F outside. If you step on the gas it makes it worse and will sometimes die, but it definately is not driveable until it warms up good.

Then, when it is above 50 F, gas will sometimes come draining out of the vapor canister and will kill the car. If the gas cap is loosened, this problem seems to go away.

This is the only thing that makes sense to me.

the purge line should only suck vapors from the tank, the end that goes to the tank should not be submerged into the fuel so I don't see how it could be sucking fuel up through that.

What would happen if I unplug the vacuum lines and plug the two up? I know there are three but 2 are together in a plastic fitting.

(there must be an auto log out with inactivity??) I had typed more but lost it...frustrating

You could try to "T" them, but really you need a new canistor(the valve is built in).

I didn't know that the valve was built in. Although I should have because I never did see one. I am also using the 87/88 shop manual, not the 89. It doesn't say where the valve is other than on the vacuum line...

I know the other vacuum line on that fitting is the EGR.

Could I just disconnect the vapor line that goes between the canister and the TB?
