PA Unrestricted Licence?

Okay, so I turned 18 a few months back. Can I just walk in and get my unrestricted licence and be done with it? The only stuff I found for applying for one are for people under-18. I currently have a "Junior" licence, where you cannot drive between 11pm and 5am, you can't leave the state at all, and if I remember correctly, if your caught speeding your licence will be suspended for 90 days.

Also, probably not, but will a unrestricted licence lower insurance or anything like that as well? Not that its bad, its only like $300 a year for the GTU.

If you are 18 your junior rules are lifted even if you still have the card. Your license typically expires the day after your 21st birthday. Sometimes a year before, like mine did for some reason. If you get pulled over after 11 the cop will see your 18 and not screw you

Thanks, that is much better than I was told by everyone I asked.. Seems dumb that they didn't send a new one in the mail. Guess I'll get that in 2014.

Why would they send a new one? its not expired yet...

I had an under 21 license till I was 26 because of a law change that gave people 6yr licenses when my first was with the old law that was a 4yr license... I got at 16 it expired when I was 20.. got new one still said under 21 all over it and that was a 6 yr license that lasted till 26.

Yup thats how it works.

If you want to get a motorcycle license or CDL I recommenced you get those before you renew, so they will be on your new card. I have to carry my motorcycle license separate which is annoying.

I just thought that they sent one that didn't say Junior on it. No problem though, I'm glad that I am unrestricted now.

Yeah, I should get around to getting a motorcycle one soon, I'd like to have one lol I'll have to find out what the CC restriction is for them (I think there's one)

There is no restriction on anything larger than 50cc. Anything under 50cc is just a car license, over 50 is a MC license.

Where are you getting all these wrong facts?

The car licence stuff was just from people, and misinterpreted stuff read on the DMV website, as for the motorcycle stuff, I honestly don't know lol

I'm probably just getting stuff mixed up in my head because I haven't slept in a day or so.
