Hey gang!

I know we go through a lot of discussion here on the boards, over the old email lists, and more recently on social network sites like Facebook.

Here is my idea:

I want to put together a Monthly Article for the main beretta.net page. This would help give our main page a fresh look, and make certain topics easily searchable for those on the web that have not yet found us. Topics are pretty open and would range from things like Bfest recaps, modifying, restoration, car history, or really anything relevant to the site and our club.

BUT...

I need your help! As full of ideas as I am, people would get sick of just things from me We would look into taking submissions for articles. The articles would have to be well written, and easily read by members of the community and anyone else looking for info on the web! I would then proofread and possibly edit the submission before going public. Submission deadlines are open to judgement right now, but I was thinking a 15th of the month release each month to be put up on the site.

I will be putting up the first article soon, and we will get the ball rolling for august and beyond.

Good idea. Can't have the home page stuck on the current year's Bfest info forever!

When I get some time later, maybe I can work to contribute to the project.

i was thinking about something similar the other day. cruising the magazines at barnes and noble the other day and wondering...."what do the fellas at the forum read?" everything was vette, camaro, mustang, yada yada yada

a good quick tech article, history of the car, members cars, polls, projects, etc. hell of an idea but it will have to be an everybody effort. the hardest part will be get site traffic to max out the utility of the whats on the front page. the forum itself covers alot of info but for new members would be a little more inviting. there is still a bit of social anxiety to joining forums for some people, even though they are anonymous. seeing cool stuff on a front page monthly might even convince someone to buy a car. that benefits everybody.

Not exactly yet Peggy I will probably start with a recap article talking about Bfest '12!

So I was thinking we could choose the "topic" or maybe two topics and have that posted ahead of time. Submissions for those topics would then need to be to me by the 1st of the month, which would give me ample time to get it edited, formatted if necessary, and posted up by the 15th. All submissions would be emailed privately, and in Word format so I could just transfer text.

We can get as specific or general as we want. That is the beauty of it! By choosing the topics ahead of time, I feel that would better focus all of you writers and we would get a good crop to choose from.

Any articles not chosen, but that are still good articles, would then be used at a future date!

Maybe some tech articles too?

We can have topics on anything from upgrading items, to how best to clean things, etc. Lots of things we can suggest. Also can do a car of the month or something, maybe based on activity or work done on the car, etc.. Just throwing that out there. Lets not go off on the deep end with that though. Could also be based on those that won awards at Fest.

A COTM section is being brewed back up (we had this a long time ago).

I'm going in baby steps! This is already a decent project with all the Bfest stuff going on as well now

Well! Let me just ad my master modification archival to the pile o' projects!
