Could be a broken valve spring, broken/sticky valve, dirty combustion chamber, headgasket, bad valve seal?

Just throwing some out there.

This is for version 1.2.3x

When you install the PowrTuner software, there are some settings that you might want to change. This section will describe how to adjust the save method to save scan data to csv, Auto save and restore scan configurations, and adjust the write speed and refresh rate.

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> be sure 'Auto-Restore Scan Config' is checked

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> be sure 'Auto-Save Scan Config' is checked

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> Logging Options -> Scan Log Storage Method -> Select 'Export to CSV'

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> Logging Options -> Status Refresh Rate -> Check 'Lowest'

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> Logging Options -> Log Write Speed -> Check 'Realtime'

If you want to have the program generate a file name for you:

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> Logging Options -> Check 'Auto-Generate File Names'

If you want to have PowrTuner create a new file when you resume scanning:

Click Options -> Scantool Options -> Logging Options -> Check 'New File upon Resume'

Try not to log over 20 PIDs at a time (The scanner is not very stable with more that 20)

Note on a new feature: The order you add PIDs in the scanner is the order they will be displayed when saving directly to csv. If you are saving to the Internal Database, then exporting to csv, they will be in alphabetical order, just like they have been.

Edit - after all this time I see a mispelled word - Changed 'Low Write Speed' to 'Log Write Speed'
From the DHP site.

With all of that setup it should start a CSV file when you hit spacebar and stop when you hit it again.

I'm using UVscan for my scanning since I like how it works, and I may actually switch to something else someday and only use the DHP to program... that way I can continue to expand my scanning capabilities since the flashing is working just fine the way it is.

Regarding your misfires... Thats a tough one...

Try doing a crank signal re-learn to see if that makes them go away.

Launch the scan tool then under real-time options you'll see crank relearn. Read the directions and run it... you may run into an issue with it thinking its in park but on Roberts car he has a toggle switch to engage "park" so he can run this feature. If the range selector is still in use then you can just turn it to simulate park.

No if you read the new users rules it's only applicable for people with less than 5 posts... you need to pass that before the rules are lifted... it prevents crap posts.

3 and 6 have misfires and are on the same coil... Check the coil and replace it.

coil replaced with 2/5 coil and misfires stayed.

missed that in the beginning.. In that case you should have the ICM checked, and then also replace/check the crank sensor, Check/replace both, the 24x one behind the dampener too... That can be unplugged to see how it runs without it, but I'm not sure if it will see misfires with it gone.

There isn't much else in the ignition system to mess with, so after that its checking fuel injectors to see if the misfire is coming from lack of fuel. And then your into compression check and leak down testing to see if there is a valve sealing issue somewhere.

This a full 3500 too?? If so the external crank trigger could be messed up somehow...

If you need a spare ICM to test let me know I have like 4 of them. I'd even send you the one off my car knowing that it works and put one of my spares on my car, rather than sending you something I'm not 100% positive on.

thanks. looks like everything is good to go for my posting now.

and ya if you have a spare ICM for us to test that would be great. saves us from potentially buying an unneccesary part.

Thanks Jon,

i was thinking injector just based on how filthy that plug was when we pulled it compared to the cylinder 2...

engine i believe is a 3400 block, 3500 top end, cammed and wiseco pistons

the ICM would be great to have, there isnt much for options here in calgary for that unless i go brand new..

If its dirty then its not injector... dirty means its getting fuel and not firing at all...

PM me your addy I'll try to get the ICM out tomorrow... whats a good shipping method to you?
