2011 Beretta.net Committee Nominations
Its that time of year to bid a fond farewell to our planning committee from 2009-2010 and look forward to the 2010-2011 planning year!
What's new? Moving forward our committee is shifting from just planning for BerettaFest to a general committee for the entire Beretta.net website. This means that as a participant you could be part of the process that brings us enhancements to the website, heading up projects like the History of BerettaFest, and helping out our members in day to day functions.
How will this happen? We are going to continue with our format of 4 permanent committee members that are already in position, plus our 3 annually elected positions. New this year, we will be adding admins from our messageboard so that we have the day to day functions as well.
How to get involved... We will be opening up our nomination process for our 3 elected positions. IMPORTANT: As in years past all nominees MUST nominate themselves. DO NOT VOLUNTEER, NOMINATE, OR SUGGEST SOMEONE ELSE FOR A POSITION. Please let them decide if they want to get involved! Once a person is nominated, they must be seconded by at least 2 other people to be an eligible candidate to be elected on. Same process as in the past.
How long do I have to decide? Nominations are open as you read this, and we will take nominations until Friday September 17th. Nominations must be seconded and official before Sunday September 19th. We will open the polls on the Bfest group on Yahoo Groups for one week - September 19-26 - and will have our new committee by the end of September.
What about locations for Bfest 2011? Pay attention for location proposals to officially open up in the next week or two...

So far we have three nominees:
-Paul Keller
-Carl Little
-Jon Chmura
Our deadline to nominate and get seconded is in two days, so if you feel like you want to contribute speak up now!
If we do not get any other nominees, we will forgo the voting this year. Our three nominees are the same as our committee members from last year (and there are only 3), so we would skip that formality.
Speak now or forever hold your peace! (or at least until next year...)

Ok folks - nominations are over, and the committee will be set. We will run with the same three elective positions as last year: Paul K., Jon C., and Carl L.
