Official Berettafest 2006 Location

Post by quad4berettagtz »

Well gang, with no other proposals in at this time it looks like we will have our final location without any voting.  Pittsburgh, PA will be the official location of Berettafest 2006.  I am looking foward to putting together the details of next years fest with the committee and our local support.  I'm excited also, because if I'm not mistaken this will the the furthest east fest and it will be nice to give our east coasters a good chance to come out and attend a Berettafest (also - I've never personally been to PA).

This should be all the official news for a little while.  Once the committee meets with the local proposer and we start getting things more "concrete" we will be updating the rest of you folks as to what is transpiring, and if we need your input on a big decision!

One more thing....  would the person who submitted the Pittsburgh proposal please contact me via email and we will get you in touch with the rest of the committee, thanks!!

I'll map out the popular routes with GOOD written instructions...

I'm so excited!  I thought for sure it would never happen here!

I think I remember it mentioned in the proposal as being an hour to an hour & a half away. So with our driving, 40-60 minutes. ÂÂÂ

I'm taking the Z up the Incline rails.  Screw the Audi Quatro/ski jump commercial!

It is not within a reasonable distance, the time of day we go and the route we take will have a major effect on the time to the track.  I will do more research.  During rush hour on a Saturday with construction it took me a little 1.5 hours (and that's from my house which is approx. 20-30 minutes closer.)

However, I do believe I have a much faster alternative route, I have to look further into it.  Also, last I checked Test and Tune was open on Thursday, so I'll talk to DJ and we'll try to determine if it would be a better idea to maybe go on Thursday night, since that will help majorly as far as traffic and there will be less people at the track.

I talked to DJ today and he and I are going to be working on this jointly. ÂÂÂ I will say one thing, he started telling about the hotel today, and it is freaking amazing!  If we decide to, we can have the pool open all night.

You have got to be kidding! After owning my Beretta through 5 BerettaFests, it's now going to be in Pittsburgh.....and of course, I'm Berettaless. Man, that sucks! lol
The upside is I will probably be able to attend since I may be providing accomodations for JDawg4201 or whatever his SN is on here.   Sorry Jonny, can't remember what your name is on here.

*sigh*

EI think I remember it mentioned in the proposal as being an hour to an hour & a half away.

IMHO that is fcuking rediculous. An hour, ok maybe. Anything over that, wow yeah, not good stuff.

That was the strong point of mine, 15 minutes away from Augusta tops.

Everyone is not staying at hotel right?  Then screw registration....i'll just show up.  Rarely do i get fed at picnic, I run the risk of getting my Bfest shirt trashed, and I already have too many stickers to ever fit on my car, not to mention the maps are usually wrong.

I'll just show up, drink and passout under my tent in the parking lot!

Well, I don't wanna get anyone's hopes up, but I'm going to see if I can't find a hotel as awesome as the one we found a little closer to the track.  The problem is the hotels that are near the track are in a very busy area with LOTS of traffic.  And I don't know if the hotels in that area are of the awesome caliber of the one DJ is planning on.
