Re: Decided to keep the GTU, but I also bought something new
Looks pretty sweet man, loose the scoop though. Can't. Even with a low profile intake manifold any decent sized air cleaner will not fit under the hood, even the low profile air cleaners can't have a wingnut or anything holding them on, except for the fact that they hit the hood and push the hood u...

Re: Decided to keep the GTU, but I also bought something new
why an 84 they have to be the most ugly body style, should have got an 82 and back now that's what I'm talking about  nice motor though man Because its mine and not yours. =P I like this body style, and seeing as how the beretta took some design ideas from this body style corvette, I don't se...

Re: Decided to keep the GTU, but I also bought something new
The rear plate is an old plate that isn't on the car anymore, so I didnt much care to black it out. Also, linking the specs on the '84 vette does nothing, I know what they came with stock, this is no where near stock. From GM they came with Crossfire Fuel Injection, which was a fancy term for thrott...

Decided to keep the GTU, but I also bought something new.
So a while back I posted that I was up in the air about keeping the GTU or buying a corvette. I did both! I bought a 1984 Corvette for almost nothing, because it had an "electrical gremlin" that I fixed with 2 fuses (rofl). I know some of you that know corvettes will say "OH GOD WHY A...

Re: Time to make a decision. GTU or something new?
94 LT1 is a decent engine. That year has the updated PCM. Easily upgraded with LT4 parts. But... I dislike optispark. Yeah I'm not a fan of opti-spark either, so I have been looking into solutions to the issue. It seems that MSD makes a re-designed opti-spark distributor that fixes the issues with ...

Re: Decided to come back to the Beretta forums.
Problem with the WOT-tech chip is that I have a digital dash. So those are a no go. Anyone know if the chips sold on v6z24 are digi-dash compatible?

Re: Time to make a decision. GTU or something new?
Thanks to everyone that gave feedback. Like I said I am still on the fence about it. I literally change my mind about twice a day. I will look at pics of the '94 vette I would buy and decide I want the vette. Then I look at the GTU and start looking at WOT-tech's website, going through builds I coul...

Re: Time to make a decision. GTU or something new?
The actual cost of aftermarket or OEM parts isn't the issue. Its the dollars spent compared to the product you get. Also just the overall selection in aftermarket is staggering. Neither car would make a "good" year round car, you are correct. The GTU doesn't see winter, which means that I ...

Time to make a decision. GTU or something new?
Hey everyone, its been a while since I've posted anything on here (again). This is mostly because for the past few months I have been trying to decide to continue to work with my GTU or move on to something with a larger aftermarket, more power stock and rear wheel drive. I had been thinking about p...

Re: no fuel past injectors
Sounds like your injectors aren't firing. This could be caused by a few different issues, you could have a fault in the wiring harness such as a short or an open, a bad engine computer or even something as simple as a blown fuse. I have not heard of the engine computer cutting voltage to the injecto...

Oh yeah its still in the GTU and working just the way its supposed to. Although I do want to get a proper 3400 chip made for it. Anyone know who to contact?

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
What coils were you running? Since you weren't actually feeling a detonation I wouldn't be surprised if it was just electrical interference. But then again it could be something completely different if the coils didn't solve your problem. I've been thinking a lot about this issue you're having, and ...

A few new daylight pics to show you all, plus I figured I would tell you all a little bit about myself. I am an ASE master certified auto mechanic and I graduated from UTI's Glendale Heights, IL campus where I took their basic automotive coarse (includes performance classes) and the Toyota elective....

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
If you dont feel a detonation at all but its still picking it up and registering one, then I would have to say its just an electrical issue. You could go buy some shielded loom that connects to body or engine ground and loom the engine bay harness, which isnt really that bad of an idea even without ...

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
Are you using a colder plug or are you using the factory recommendation as far as the temp of the plug? I know for nitrous setups colder plugs are a must or you could get a detonation knock while spraying or after because the combustion chamber temps are way hotter than they are supposed to be.
