I was non-union, but I worked with the United Steel Workers union a few years ago. Thus far the only union I've worked with that doesn't have its head in the sand, and actually seems to have the best interest of its members in mind.

I'm the Quality Control Manager/Safety Manger at a corrugated box plant. Love the speed of it - producing less then three units per second is too damn slow. Also do the Food Safety program, backup Estimator, IT, Design....yeah, I'm busy.

My place looked a whole lot different when I started there. We're about 50% faster than we were five years ago, and twice as profitable. More money in the company kitty = more job security, not to mention more profit sharing. I've been thinking about starting a manufacturing consulting thing on the side lately; it's crazy what can be done in a short period of time with relatively little money.

I'm a driver for a local restaurant. Great pay, flexibility and work with great people. The only drawback is I don't get health insurance.

I deal with some Hotwheels and Johnny Lightnings for some extra money also.

Yup, the outer corrugated carton at least, and a little bit of high graphic wraps (go around 4-packs of yogurt, things like that). One of our biggest customers is a meat company here in town that uses around 25,000 boxes a day.
