ok went to install the pads and rotors today and it started to rain on me so im breaking till tomorrow. Had to order a new drivers side caliper because the bleeder screw was broken off but i did get the passenger side pads and rotor installed. going tomorrow morning hopefully and picking up the new drivers side caliper from autozone. man those calipers really suck, are there any other calipers from another model that would work better? What would you guys suggest? well i guess it dont matter cause i am trying to work on a budget and if i change one side i would have to do both so ill just stick with what i got for now until i have to replace the brake pads again. btw the caliper was pretty cheap at 18.99 with a core return.

ok got everything done and now electrical problems with switches in the dash (headlights stopped working) and there are a couple more shorts in the dash as well......i have read the dash swap write up (thank you chris88cl) but i was wondering about the steering columns. can i swap a 91+ column into the pre 91 car and it just connect with no problems? (i can almost bet that it wont be that simple) i also wanted to just go ahead and swap the 91+ dash harness in there as well and that would not only eliminate wiring issues (i would think) unless it doesn't just match right up to the engine bay harness. im guessing that if i swap the dash harnesses then everything else in the dash would be cake. btw i absolutely hate dash and wiring work:( arrgh but the newer dash and door panels look much better.) note: i will be swapping the instrument cluster and hvac control also.

k got some new problems today.......took it to a friend of mine and he said that the squeeling in the belt came from the water pump (apparently they all do this after they start to go bad?) been losing water somewhere.(not sure where though) im thinking the t-stat is bad because the hose on the right side is considerably colder than the one on the right

Pull your oil fill cap and check the head for coolant. Also check the the sides of each head for small amounts of coolant running down. If that turns out ok then go from there.

ok i checked the heads for leaks and inspected the oil filler cap and inside the head for coolant and it turned up clean (besides being a lil gunky in there but nothing a good seafoaming wont cure but def no coolant showing anywhere) however while warming the car up i did notice that at the radiator was steaming a bit (and i mean a very tiny amount) at the top passenger side right near the smaller diameter hose. The hose itself appears fine and not cracked or leaking. the steam is coming from the area right next to the hose inside the radiator "grate" looks to be right where the sides of the radiator would be welded to the grate itself. perhaps i have a small leak there? i assume where there is steam there must be water leaking (because it is an extremely slow leak) if you guys need me to take a pic let me know.....its somewhat hard to explain
