Ok guys, sorry about the lateness. I had alot of things going on and now that I FINALLY have some time, I managed to do a real quick mockup for a double-sided card. I think I read you guys were down with that.

So here is the front:
Image

I put my own sticker design on there with the website logo Woody gave me. I personally like the front of a business card to be somewhat minimalist with the website or business name on it.

Here is a mockup of the back:
Image

I haven't put any picture on it yet as you guys may have to come together on what you want. The font and letter sizing will come soon. This is just a general layout I've setup. I got most of the bulletpoints from Ace's mockup and put them in here. I think it is enough to show what we do and what we are. I don't want to oversaturate the card with information as it will make the text too small, making it annoying for people to try to read. Remember, this is going on a 2x3.5 inch card so real-estate is quite valuable.
I wish we can put that we're a friendly and polite community, but then I'd be a liar. :burn:

Either way, this is gonna be your guys' cards so give me some input on what you may want to put in, colors (nothing too vivid).
I'm thinking to put the picture of one car in the back or just a few cars. Or maybe, we can put this pic in there:

and write the site info in the negative space.

A agree with Wanako, simpler is better... I heard last week that an old racer legend use to hand out business cards to bring in sponsorship's and all the card said was I'm your driver with his name and phone number in the bottom corner... and it worked for him. If you put too much it's too busy and people think it's a joke, but if you leave it simple true to the site and clean the someone will look at it and want to figure out more and visit. It also seems to be the way people are going lately, clean simplistic "Modern" looking as they refer to it.

nice wanako.

i havent done graphics since'06 but simple is always better when it comes to logos. i would rotate the car clockwise just a cooter hair or two. and maybe a drop shadow on the lettering.

does a front shot of the car in that style exist? damn i wish i still had photoshop.

i always used logopond.com for inspiration when i did logos

My opinion is to go to print with DTMAce's card. Its the peoples card. It shows credibility, has all the info needed and the space for local info to be added that we mostly all agreed on. For a non biased opinion I showed both cards to my wife who hates Berettas and doesn't know DTMAce or Wanko but has a lot of marketing experience and she likes DTMAce's card better as well.

I like Wanako's card. I think we should set up a poll thread to vote for the winner. :)

We all know that more designs will just lead into a vote that will delay this project even more.

Not trying to start any fights, just being logical.
WOW!!! Did I call it or what?!? Here we go with more delays.

I am not trying to start a fight but why should you alone decide for all of us what card we should go with. Just because your wife liked the other one better?

Edit: I agree there HAS to be a deadline but we all have to be happy with the final product.

For the record, I don't care one way or the other. I just submitted an idea, as I said I was going to do.

I can see the benefit of it being simpler, but to be honest I already thought mine was pretty simple... LOL

Anyways, its up to you all what you want to use. Not going to hurt my feelings either way... ;) But lets get something figured out, so we can have them to use.

And to be fair, Wanako's is an early version, not a finished version. So as its shown there, it does look plain. I recall that he stated its not a final.

My wife is a neutral person with a marketing background. It was just an example. Show both cards to friends, co-workers and people around you and see what you come up with. Not saying I am the only deciding factor BUT, I started this thread, it was MY idea. I know all of my talk is for nothing because we will go through the design process of getting Wanko's card better. In the mean time about 2-3 other people will come up with designs to throw in. Then it will go to a month long vote. We may just get some cards processed just in time to be distributed along with the 2013 Beretta Calendar.

Let me say the reason I like Wanako's is because it matched the site decals. It will give us more credibility to have everything match across the board. While I feel it needs doing quickly, it needs doing right while remaining professional.

Agreed that we should be more uniform as far as the logo goes. But in that case the header of the forum must be changed before the cards are produced.
