i realize that i am coming into this late, but here is my 3 cents.

Eric gave me and others parts at bfest etc, free of charge.

i also have not seen him since bfest NE 2010, i am owed a 4 T shirt refund. i also have a 62mm TB that i am testing (now installed thus keeping), and i owe him $$.

the very 1st time i meat him was at Niagara Falls, he gave me the keys to the white quad and asked me 2 deliver it to his home in Hamilton. i was floored, we did not know each other, yet he trusted me with the car.

Yup, he is an old fart, a loud old fart, at time obnoxious. I consider him to be a friend of mine.

on the paypal issues, IMO, it does not matter who you deal with, family, friends, strangers, whatever the paypal deadline is for a complaint of not receiving the said purchased item. file a complaint, it's smart business. and when u buy something from someone, it is a business transaction.

i will be optimistic that i will see Eric and Barb in MI.

Your taking a drag built car and trying to outfit it for the street... I think you need to concentrate on a few other things such has revise the transmission for street driving at re-enable the TCC and possibly drop the gear ratio some... I wouldn't put A/C on the priority list since there are many other things that were done to that car to make it a straight line car....

For example if you haven't noticed he also removed the sway bar to clear the headers because he didn't take my advice on how to modify them after the collector... I was the one to made them fit the engine bay and they apparently hit on a 3t40 in an area that they don't on my 4t60e. But I also did not modify after the collector since thats specific to how you want your exhaust.

Another example of that is Woody... he never did what I said either and this is how low his flange is compared to the rest of the system. It hangs very low and he had to angle the pipe going from the flange up to get the rest of the system at the right height.

I fitted mine and it came out like this

My cutout is the lowest hanging part.

Without it.

Actually, who needs A/C when you don't even have heat? lol

Been debating on dumping the A/C completely on the base... And its not working on the Z either... lol

Roll down the windows. Like Jon said, its a strip car, not sure why you'd wanna do all that to it. Fix the rust then take her to the track.

I'm more curious about the White GTZ now. And which impound lot IT is sitting at.....

When I talked to Eric last, he said it was in his driveway, and he even asked if I wanted to buy it. (if I had the spare coin, I probably would have)

Anyway.

I haven't tried calling him since, so not sure what to tell everyone. Just seemed weird, hence the original reason I started this post.

,yea i noticed the swap bar was missing when i did a saftey on it. I think iam going with a 282 getrag for the trans problem i have a few of them. The way i look at it all tho its a drag car, its still street legal and as such should comply with the law and would be a good learning experiance for my apprentices. The a/c has to work because i dont want to put up with my wife. i have tonnes of parts and it wouldnt take much to get it going again. I tried the switch on the console while driving and the tcc didnt lock up so iam not sure what it does but idle in park it stalls so ill have to trace the wires and figure it out. But the car is died right now no crank signal ill have to look at it on the weekend. This car is turning out to be a pain in the butt and as for the GTZ there is one for sale driving around i see it going to work ill have to catch up to it and see who is driving it.

No cage, no fuel cell, has full interior, is street legal, and isn't fast... It's not a drag car, it's just a daily driver with missing parts... Just my opinion! Good luck in getting it back into shape, as you know it's all easy stuff to get it how YOU want it to be, and as long as you have the time, the money, the parts and the knowledge, (which it sounds like you do) I'm sure it will turn out great! :D

My beretta is in now way shape or for a true drag car.. but i still race it and it gets the job done... I wouldnt want to put any money into it to make it fast... not worth it.. but it fun too look at and drive and kick butt at the track with... I would say keep it and fix it up to be a neat daily driver... its different, its got "upgrades".. perfect for a fun daily.. far from a real drag car...

Ok fine my statement was BLOWN out of proportion I guess....

The damn car was built to GO to the drag strip, that's why so much is missing or lacking it was NOT built to drive daily that's my point. As you noted you need to change the trans now to make it even usable to you.

The whole combination engine transmission and torque converter were configured to get the best ET it's a 3k stall converter its got 3.73 gears no TCC Last I checked that's crap for a DD car... and to say a mid to low 13 N/A isn't fast... WTF guys?

But WTF do I know.

Have fun with the car, its a shame that Eric had to loose it.
