That's unfair CB. You can't go in to a mechanic telling him this is what you think it is and not allowing him to do his job. I won't absolve all but just like there's crooked cops, lawyers and yes mechanics it's usually the exception and not the rule.

hey BerettaGT89, keep an eye on the electronics, which often like to fail after 25+ years.
check the ECM yourself. it's not a big deal. if the pins are corroded, the ecm will likely fail.

Everyone keeps mentioning the ECM so it seems that is the best place to start. I have never worked on cars and I can't even find a Chevy dealership around me to work on it. I will see what I can do and hopefully get her running. Thanks guys.
