I'm going to speak with Jihoff and Boner at NE and see if they are interested/serious.

If so I will get out the contact list and see what sort of support I can generate while I'm in SC in October and November.

If there is $1000 or so of sponsorship to be had I'll help put together a proposal for Charlotte NC.

At the very least I'm sure I can get someone to throw $300 at the BBQ again.

(3X00-Modified @ Aug. 25 2008,11:14)QUOTE1997 - Avon, Illinois
1998 - Cleveland, Ohio
1999 - Indianapolis, Indiana
2000 - St. Louis, Missouri
2001 - Louisville, Kentucky
2002 - Memphis, Tennessee
2003 - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
2004 - Denver, Colorado
2005 - Columbus, Ohio
2006 - Pittsburgh, PA
2007 - Detroit, MI
2008 - Niagara Falls, ON Canada
And from what I see in the recap of bfest's past..... there have been a bunch that havent even been close to the east coast. Hell Niagara falls is the closest to the east cost as far as bfests go. I think that a Charlotte proposal would be pretty big and would draw a lot of people. The southern guys especially. I myself would love to go to a NC meet. My brother-in-law lives in Jacksonville, NC so I could probibly make it a 'family' event. Drop the wife/kids off there when it's stuff that would be boring to them. Make a vacation out of it.

Just to give you guys a look into where Bfests have been held......

And if you added a population map overlay, you have found where most of the people, and hence the Berettas are.

It's not Rocket Science.

The NE is where the people are.

Bfest Niagra was a bust. It was the worst place to have an american car festival...outside of america. hell bfest europe almost did as well as bfest N.A.

I would vote for the Charlotte festivities but only if someone besides asylum plans it. Seems like he did a poor job with the one up north, why make the same mistake twice

I had very little to do with the planning of Niagara Falls other than arrange for funding 90% of the picnic,  having most of the costs of the road course event subsidized by Molson, and personally paying for the trophies.

The ONLY reason I was added to the committee this year, and this year only, was because I had the funding in place.

Had I planned Niagara Falls it would have been MUCH different.

Hell I didn't even vote for Niagara Falls.

But then you weren't here were you? So I suppose that makes you part of the problem doesn't it?

Seriously you weren't even there... *** do you know??

No one else had a better proposal so Niagara won... it was popular choice.

And if you ask me it wasn't a bust... it was just in a vacation land so it was yes a little expensive, BUT it was the first Bfest with a road course AND dragway, so people like Mike got to show off his skills, rather than just the straight line guys.

Ive read there was some confusion with the road course and dragstrip organization. couldnt do both at once. also read there was some bolloxing for the organization of the actual road course and timing. I wasnt there so I cant speak from experience but Niagra just seems like an awful place to have an event, as jon said (tourism).

I dont care how much money you drop into these events, it doesnt excuse extreme arrogance.

ppl were able to do both if wanted and it was totally up to the person themselves as some stayed on the road coarse til it got dark while the others wanted to go to the drag strip and it was pretty fun and made me wish my car was done in time for it

As stated yes you could do both... I did both with pinky... beat the hell out of it on the road course then went over to get it in inspected for drag racing reeking of brake's and the inspector even asked that... he was like wow, smells like brakes, told him why and he laughed.

The timing yes was un-organized because NO ONE VOLUNTEERED to do it... If your SO good at criticizing some else's efforts why don't you put some effort toward it, and if its too much to do that then STFU.  Unless you were there trying to help and got denied then I don't see where you have ANY grounds to say a word.

There was ONE watch or MAYBE 2 so they did the first lap time for each car, we should have blocked it and had two cars out there at one time that wanted to compete for time and time them both consecutively for a few laps, but it was more of just a get in your car and drive around for the fun of it deal.

I don't CARE about the tourism factor either... Niagara is a place that I had never been to and wanted to see in my lifetime so guess what Bfest acted as a double trip... I got to see the falls, AND do a car thing.  That's how quite a few people thought of the event too.

All this complaining, and I doubt you'll even go to the 09 event because it will be too far away... Hell NE is too far for you to go for more than one day...

well... not like anyone expected any different... if it is way east again... I wont be able to go... at least that far...I dont mind it being on that side of the US... but with vacation constraints and  other stuff like racing.. going that far would not happen for me...

Maybe.. we will see...

actually im only showing up for one day at bfest NE  to race.
the first days and last days activities dont really fit in for me too well because i dont know you people. Never met you people and because of me being bi-polar and having social anxiety disorder i dont really know if i want to know you people.

racing is a different story. just because im racing doesnt mean i have to speak to you guys.

well with that comment, I'm going to say if your bringing your camaro then race on your own buck and don't include yourself in our group if you don't even want to talk to us... hell for that matter don't bother coming.  That was an extremely *** holish thing to say.

The whole point of a Beretta Fest, small or national, is to get together with the people that share the same interest and MEET who you have been talking to online, and if you don't want to do that then don't bother wasting your or our time.

Agreed!  I've never spent much time in Niagara before and I couldn't think of a better group of people to do it with.

I didn't really care much about the timing on the road course so much as just that there WAS a road corse period!  It was a blast despite the impending CV shaft failure.

I do have to say that this past year had the highest percentage of people registered actually show up.  There were only a handful that didn't.

If anyone has another idea about where Bfest 2009 should be then put them out there.  Ultimately the location is in your hands.
