In the rear....lol....yes. First time I changed the wheel bearings. Just started to notice uneven tread wear last year. Not bad for 20 years.

Ya. I have changed the fronts many a times. I replaced the ones in the front about 6 years ago. Thinking maybe I should change those too before I make the drive all the way to WI from CA.

Still find it odd how the wheel bearings for the front are only $64 and the ones in the rear were $101. Still can't understand why that was. lol

Supply and demand. The fronts are replaced quite a bit more often.

319,000 miles??!?!?! Holy crap man! I thought I had a lot of miles, which I do, but you're way up there. That's awesome. I'll see if I can get the time to come down sometime to work on it with you.

I just ordered the engine. A 2001 Impala 3400 V6. It will be here next week. I bought it for $900 with 20,000 miles, 2 year warranty and that includes shipping from Texas. Of course, After I get it I may be upgrading a few parts here and there. So....after talking to my machine shop...I should start the process in about 3 weeks. I will also be rebuilding my 5-spd tranny. Installing some new braided fuel lines from the firewall to the engine.

I need a custom exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold to the cat. Any thoughts on that?

Oh man that is a good price. What other work are you planning to do to the engine?
Check with wicked-irocz, he has made down pipes and a full exhaust system for these cars.

Any thoughts on where to obtain a "pre-built" turbo "package" for a 2001 Impala 3400?

Chad, if you really want all this done you should just drop your car off and write me a blank check :)

Does your car have a plastic tank?

Can you say Collector plates? I can. I just got them today in the mail. YAY! I have waited 15 years for this day. My '89 is now listed as a Collector! I can now die in peace!

Also my engine is in. Things are finally starting to piece together.
