Your fuel pressure should not be over 43 with the vacuum line disconnected from the regulator.

injectors installed, car is still not running correctly. Stumbles upon acceleration. Going to pick up a fuel pressure tester and report back. This is very odd

the other odd thing is if I switch back to my automatic computer, the car will barely idle. Just dips up and down and stalls. Manual computer I bought here seems at least to idle. I am really hoping now I have a fuel problem, not sure what else to replace.

Re: rich smelly and farty
I have figured out my really bad stumble upon acceleration, it was the EGR gasket had a rather large leak. got a new one seems to be a lot better but i still have a stumble upon acceleration, still have a rich smell, and the car will not idle smoothly. If you have your hand on the top of the motor you can feel it stumbling. Give it a bit of gas it runs very smooth. At WOT, it has lots of power. When pressing the gas to the floor it has a stumble that feels almost consistent with the position of the pedal. Should I be looking at a TPS? Still have yet to try the fuel pressure due to lack of equipment. test but holy @#Q$@#$ i hope its that.
If my fuel pressure checks out, what are my next options?
I am completely baffled and going to start reading the GM factory service manuals to see if there is anything I can find to help with this. I have been working with this crappy idle and rich smell ever since i bought the car and not from lack of working on it, i am still failing. I am really willing to do anything to get this solved

Re: rich smelly and farty
well i replaced the TPS and have seen the greatest improvement yet. the smoothness of the idle is much improved, and also is the hesitation. mind you the one i put on was just as old as the one i took off. I will be picking up a new AC delco one ASAP to try will report back.

Re: rich smelly and farty
In the end the TPS sensor did not do anything. Still having the exact same issues
Well i finally got around to getting the fuel pressure tester, and it seems normal. With the FPR unplugged getting a very solid 43-47psi. What should my pressure be at idle? I was reading 30-37psi. With any flip of the throttle it was right back up to 43-47psi.
What are the chances of the PCV valve going bad or MAP sensor. In the GM service manual it says these could cause an issue? I have checked the vac lines going to both and they seem perfect. When i disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connection it had a lot of trouble finding idle, and just runs very boggy.
I am really down to the point now I have nothing left to test or replace. I could really use any input. This is such a low miles engine I know it should give me years of good service.
Any input would be appreciated!

Re: rich smelly and farty
You still also have the possibility of a stuck injector flooding one cylinder.

Re: rich smelly and farty
What injectors are you running? and what is the ECM programmed for?
I guess I'm out... Hard to diagnose without being there to scan it myself. Sorry.
