Re: 1989 base...
I don't know man, my 3.1 went 213k and would have went alot longer if that cab had not knocked the front end off. All I did was plugs, wires, new sensors, ICM, coils and a timing chain. Well there were other things, but they were not to make it run better. That engine would start with boom even with over 200k.
keep'em flying!
Re: 1989 base...
what im saying is that id buy em and put them in and then not mess with it for months. like just bolt it in and leave it. lol. not doing that no more.

Why did you scrap the motor? I'm pretty sure its your wiring harness and car thats the issue...

Re: 1989 base...
well was SGR's statement true about the original engine having a fire? If so you have a lot more to get rid of than just selling the swapped engine as scrap if you want a "fresh start"
You seem to want something but you either do not listen to advice, or your just completely miss stating things so we simply can not help you in the least at figuring out what's wrong.

no it wasnt a fire. what happened was i was seeing if the FPR was sealing and it didnt and it leaked a little gas and somehow it got ignited. thats all. nothing was burned. it was like 'oh crap' then it was gone.
also, i tried everything yall have said. the problem was i used to go to school in nc and id come home on the weekends and id work on it, then leave it all apart in the rain and stuff and it got messed up. but now that ive graduated school, im home now and all i have is time to work on it.
today i painted the engine bay and reinstalled some parts. also im 90% done with the wiring harness. wrapped it all up in electrical tape and checked every wire for damage. gonna loom it up tomorrow and reinstall in the car. now i just have to find a good running swap.

piiiiiiiiics

Dont mind the headlights, i need a header panel and just set them there. haha
Re: 1989 base...
What're you going to do with the Beretta? Jonesing for a car that makes power under 5000 RPM? lol
Re: 1989 base...
I'm just messing with you. How's the wonderful world of VTEC?
Are there any junkyards near you that pull their own parts? That'd probably be the best place to look for a working 2.8/3t40
