Ya, no kidding. It's actually rust-free because it came from Vancouver, British Columbia on the west coast. Winters are very mild and there's no road salt used. And based on the low mileage when I bought it last fall, 142K km (87K miles) it probably wasn't driven year round (that's only about 4K miles per year).mickaz wrote:nice car? no rust, in montreal!?!?! I got it professionally undercoated in the fall, so it survived it's first Montreal winter without any problems. I still can't find any rust on the body or underneath. It's all original paint, except for the roof and trunk lid, which I got re-done because there were some flakes coming off. It's got about 160K km (99K miles) on it now.
Here in Quebec there are NO inspections required what-so-ever, even when you buy a used car, so most are full of rust and holes in less than 10 years, but people keep driving them until the fall apart. My Beretta is one of the few 80s (or even 90s) cars I ever see downtown here.
