Re: New Member, heres why:
I could dig up my pics of it from Bfest '05. If I remember correctly the guy showing it to us moved it out into the center of the room for us. I almost want to say it had a 2.8, but it was long enough ago that I could be wrong.

Change the vin and take off that sticker(lol). What are they going to do? They sold all of the ones they had.
I remember a few photos of that Ram many years ago.

Re: New Member, heres why:
I was told by my Auto Collision teacher that the Ram "T-rex", the one you have pictures of was at the JVS in Piqua to get parts of it repainted.. IIRC, one side of the bed was getting repainted but they had no paint code to go by. Does that truck has a red pearl reflection in the paint sort of? This was over 3 years ago when he told me all of this but he said there was a odd color pearl in it so it was hard to match..

i thought the drivers side of the bed looked wierd, but i jus chalked it up to the reflection from the fire engine beside it....maybe thats the weird pearl color?

I think it was in a 4Wheeler magazine. Or Peterson's Off Road magazine. Not sure if I had it or just saw it and read about it on a newstand. That may give you something to go off of.

Re: New Member, heres why:
That Indy is VIN 1G1LV34T9LY178766 and was built 2/15/1990. It does have VIN plates and the sticker in the door jamb. It's a 3.1 automatic. For a short period it was used in the classroom, and students were allowed to work on it. Once they figured out the rarity of the car, it never saw the classroom again. This is a late version car, the 56th built, and has a convertible-specific suspension (don't know what exactly the difference is though). Although in finished form, this car is not as nice as the earlier ones, having some of the added bracing left black, instead of painted.
More pictures of this car can be seen in this album, including one of it in the classroom:

If you go up one level, you'll find more albums of other convertible pictures.

Hi, I'm Kyle, and I'm obsessed with convertibles.

Just some other facts...Kyle Anderson wrote:. This is a late version car, the 56th built, and has a convertible-specific suspension (don't know what exactly the difference is though). There were 96 official convertibles built. 50 were "INDY Convertible" models, 82 had a black convertible top (and interior?). and only 19 have black cloth with yellow accents.
At least 6 of them were not engineering test vehicles.

Lol, I made this nice post only to realize I hadn't even looked at page 2 and Kyle beat me to it and topped anything I could have ever written.
Thanks for the updated pics! I want to go see it someday.
BTW we'll have to gouge all of your eyes out for looking at this car.
