Afaik, that Isuzu won't bolt up directly to anything but the 2.2L Ace. And don't forget as well, the 2.2L is known for fuel injector issue. The harness and mounts would DEFINITELY have to be swapped for any other power plant to go in there as well as the ECM. Lot of work brother.
If you just intend to DD it, I say go for it, ride it till it dies (again, lol) and scrap it.

Pretty much my intention. Again providing its even reasonable to fix it to that state. Will find out later this week.
I must be nuts.....

Hmmm... It appears I stand corrected. According to a friend, the 2.2L shares the 60*'s bell housing pattern. But, the Isuzu would never stand up to a V6. It would crumble.

Ok.....
If that's the case, then the HO quad should also be able to fit the thing as I understood those and the V6's engines shared the same bolt pattern. But since either of those swaps require a huge, bigger pain in the ass then what I may already have to deal with, I will just stick with the 2.2. Not like I want to go tearing ass all over like I do in the Z anyway. LMAO I suppose the other solution would be to swap the Isuzu for a getrag, but why bother.
Its too bad though, I had really hoped it was a getrag in this. Should have known. Ah well. Maybe I will get lucky and the engine isn't trash. HA. OH and explain the injector thing. I haven't heard of it.

No, the Quads and V6 do NOT share the same bellhousing pattern.

Then why does a getrag work with either? Or am I missing something?
Edit:
My problem is, I'm such a noob when it comes down to the quads and the manual trannies. So I guess I just want to get the facts straight, so I learn. I'm sure many of you observe that I absorb a lot of intel on beretta stuff just by using these sites and such, and can regurgitate a lot of the info I pick up quite readily later. lol

It will work with v6, lots of bs in here.
Getrag has a v6 or a quad bellhousig.

The Quad Getrag and V6 Getrag have different bell housings. BOTH are 282's. BUT... you would have to swap bell housings to mate the Quad Getrag to a V6. The Isuzu WILL MATE to a V6... BUT it will not handle the power of a V6 well at all. It's too weak.
And no, it's NOT bs. That's accurate information Barry.

Here's your proof and pics.
First is the V6 Getrag.
Second is the Quad Getrag.
See the differences?

It's all good man. Learning is a good thing. I'm trying to help you understand.

Funny, never realized the housings were different, let alone that they could be changed... Cool..
Yep, sticking with the 2.2.... Easier.

chad's engine would for sure be the best option (if a friends discount is in the works!)

Fiero guys have used the Isuzu trans with V6's before, not sure how long they have lasted though. I know it can and has been done before.

Yeah, but that still will require more work than I plan to put into it. So its either a 2.2 or its scrap. What I want to know about, someone mentioned an injector issue on these. WHAT is the issue? lol

i dont think it is that common of an issue... that engine was used in a lot of different cars as well... works well, the normal 4 cyl issues like headgaskets every 100 k or so... lol
