Re: Dash Illumination lights.
Found a pic of the Camaro. The incandescent bulbs didnt look as bad in person, but the difference was still night & day. I used the ones with a concave end like this:

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
I just priced it out on Super Bright LED's to outfit the whole car with just replacment bulbs all in LED's and its about $166.... Very tempting to just try it out.
The test bulbs I got for my dash are these...
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... htm#photos
I think my mistake is getting the 90* spread and not the 120*, but we'll see.
I need to get something for Amy's car because 37 bulbs are near impossible to find and that's what her dash uses.

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
Exterior lighting with 1156 and 1157 bulbs appropriate colors, with the 24's for the front corners on a 96, and 194 for the rear side markers and corner lenses of the brakes, and the high mount stop, interior dome and floor lights... $178. I didn't get the largest 1156 or 1157 bulbs they are one step down, since the largest ones are $25 each. This doesn't include whateve would fit the Hvac and dash, I left those out.
Your doing alot of custom strip lighting, thats why your options are so much more expensive, I'm just looking at bulb replacements.
I did not price the reverse lights either since I'm not sure if they will be bright enough yet.

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
Actually bud I did the bulbs first, don't forget. Did you get a resistor for each one of the turn bulbs? You need those too, 6 total if you did them all.
And you can't go bigger than the 24's anyway. 30's won't fit the housing hole. Did you do narrow or wide angle? Mine are narrow currently which gives the lights a "spot" look in the daytime, (have pics all over with those, especially the last Indy fest) but at night they look fine. The only strip LEDs on the car right now are sidemarkers and 3rd brake, neither of which require a resistor.
Now, if you replaced the flasher with an LED or heavy duty one, it might work. I had to go resistor, as the computer wouldn't let the ABS work without them. Until I did that, the ABS would auto disable the second I flipped the lights on, hit the brake or used a turn signal. But you are on a 96, so no idea if you will have that issue.
Let me know, I will shoot you some pics of how I mounted the rear resistors to make it easy to install. Front ones you just mount to the inner steel bumper near the light.
Edit:
This page, 2/3rds the way down, has pics of the bulbs and stuff I bought. The resistors I bought later on, once I realized I needed them.

Thats why having a sexy digital dash is nice haha, much nicer to read at night (or day). The only thing that sucks is you can forget to turn your headlights on in the morning or during rain because its always illuminated.3X00-Modified wrote:You get spoiled when you drive a Legacy every day and then you look at your beretta dash and go DAMN how did I ever read that at night.

I haven't ordered anything yet regarding the whole car. Also the lights I'm Looking at are nothing like what you bought. They are smd ones and 360* projection. It's 18 or 45 led's

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
Yeah, those are newer. They didn't have those when I bought bulbs... LOL Those look like they may do alright though.
Actually they have added quite a bit since I first shopped there to be honest.
Still, keep the other facts in mind regarding the load resistors. Again, you might or might not need them depending on your setup.

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
The guys on gmt400.com have said "superbrightleds" suck. Just an FYI. And I tried LED reverse lights on the Camaro and they don't work very well for backing up in the dark.

Way to often is the end user at fault for electronics issues.
Re: Dash Illumination lights.
hahah
Never said they were the crap either, but I have been happy with the results so far.

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
From your GMT400.com sig.... LOL where did you pull that 220 number from? 94MPH at 3100lbs guessing HEAVY is 211hp... 2900lbs is 197hp... LOL91 Beretta "SS" - 220hp 3400 MPFI / HM282 5spd
YES I know off topic.
For reference from this past weekend
Your Horsepower computed from your vehicle weight of 3175 pounds and MPH of 106.7 is 317.00
And yes I weighed my car after my run to get that exact weight.
I gotta drag your ass over here and we can hit up the dyno just up the road from me. I may go before the end of this year... but I'm not sure yet. I would like to.

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
haha
220 is a guestimate. I was expecting to trap higher than 94.8, that's for sure. 2940 I think was the weight it came in at on the scale.

Re: Dash Illumination lights.
eek, thats even worse, 190hp of raging SS... LOL
But if thats right for Wheel HP, then that puts you 10 over what Geoff put down on his car... But I would expect a bit more since you are running open headers.
I used this calculator for the second time, it puts mine at 301hp vs the 317 the other site said.
http://www.ajdesigner.com/fl_horsepower ... _speed.php
It says Rodney has 368HP with his 117 trap time at your weight, I just guessed since its a 5-speed as well currently.
